Battlegrounds

Looks good, but it feels like it might just be an area purely for high levels ,PvP wise, quests and all look good, but you'd get ganked by anyone 5 levels higher than you easily.
It could be that the only purpose for your every existence, is to serve as a warning to others.

And?

Hehe, seriously, you're probably right, it'll be dangerous for lower levels in there I imagine. But it's not terribly difficult to level up. I think the BGs look great, can't wait to try them out.

Lower-level players who wanted to contribute in other ways to the battle could also do so by undertaking PvP-related quests, such as capturing wolves or rams to provide mounts for cavalry charges, claiming a nearby mine and ferrying resources back to the main base to upgrade allied troops, or capturing enemy graveyards to lengthen the run back to the frontlines for revived adversaries.

Aye thats what I was talkin about. But how much chance do say, a group of level 20's have of taking a graveyard from 2 high levels.

I like that they've taken ideas for this from some of the custom WC maps, I'm looking forward to it.

It'll be interesting to see what the minimum amount of players you need to start an "instance" - I imagine some people will try to dominate it or farm the elite caves repeatedly.

That's a good question, by know PvP resists are hugely differnt from PvE . I know vs. NPC's if it's 3-5 levels above, I'm rarely going to land shit...more than that, I'm not going to at all. However, in some misc Hillsbrad PvP that was going on, I was landing almost every spell on PC's 10-12 levels higher, occasionally for only half damage tho.

For clarification, are the battlegrounds only going to be implemented on the PvP servers, or all servers?

Yeah, they seem to have made it so you can take out pretty much anyone if theres a decent force of you. I remember during one raid I managed to take out a ?? troll shammy (I think) just myself..and my bear..and he was busy killing someone else. Still think it'll be hard for lowbies to take places out of others hands. But collecting wolves for mounts for the war effort is pretty neat.

The lower levels going in as support troops are going to get ganked endlessly I'd think.

OK I don't play WoW (yet!) and I think the Battlegrounds look amazing, I couldn't believe how awesome they looked.

Hopefully there will be a good balance inside the Battlegrounds, but is there not a danger of one of the sides just constantly farming/holding the zone (or at least a majority of it)?

Apart from that it looks just about the coolest thing I have seen in an mmog for ages.

Teeny, if they let you filthy Euros play on our servers, WW is teh place to be.

Didn't go read it again, but iirc (each?) battleground has a set player limit per "feild". So a 5:1 zergling\horde ratio like we have on WW wouldn't be an issue.

Of course, from what I've seen of the alliance on our server 5:1 would be about even :)

Totally Masteen, Whisperwind is where I would be headed. Sadly it looks like I may have to just stay on a Euro server (the whole CC-paypal-usbillingaddress) sounds so complicated.
