This is actually a pretty decent deal on all sides to be honest and not a Yanks buy everything in sight which is normally par for their course (and probably why Beltran will also end up in pinstripes).

Starting rotation of Hudson, Smoltz, Hampton, Ramirez, Thompson is looking might tasty. The infield bats are all solid as hell. The real question right now is what will the Braves do for an outfield this year? There is a chance they will sign Jaques Jones to play left and ask Santa for a right fielder. My guess is that they are not done dealing. I expect to see Andruw (Crisco) Jones moved soon to accomodate the signings for 3 outfielders and to sign an extension for Hudson.

I would also not be surprised to see them deal Hampton to the Cubs to dump his contract and take on Sosa in return (with the Cubs eating a chunk of his contract)....then use some of that cash to sign Millwood. Those two moves would have an unreal pitching staff, give them an outfield of what I am speculating to be as Sosa, Jaques Jones, and Jeff Francouer.....with a possibility of signing a Madglio Ordonez to give Francouer another year in the minors.

It's a shitty deal for the Dodgers. Brad Penny, Shawn Green and some quality young guys for Javier Vazquez and flotsam?

yeah, it looks like the Dogers are getting screwed. They must be doing it for salary reasons or something.

As for the Diamondbacks, we got Randy Johnson as a free agent. We didn't have to give up anything for him so anything we get for him on his way out is a bonus.

Green will make 16 million next season but it's the last year on his contract so he'll move on or have to resign for much less.

Yeah Kilmoll, the Atlanta paper today is saying they are going to give Francoer a shot in spring training for RF, but i don't think they are looking to really count on that.

Moises Alou is a possibility, and that is fine with me for a 1/2 yr deal at the right price ($5 million per). His dad played for the Braves, so i think he spent some time in the ATL as a kid, so maybe there is a connection there.

I think we can say Millwood is not going to come to Atlanta, unless the Braves trade Thomson for somebody.

But yeah, obviously huge holes in the outfield at the moment, i just thank god we didnt have to trade Giles to get Hudson. I think it is a great deal for the Braves. I'm a little curious about the Marrero to KC deal for some mid-range reliever, but i will never talk shit about Schurholtz again, after the magic he worked last year.

So far, the Dodgers have essentially let go of any talent they had within their lineup without so much as raising a finger. Just fucking retarded.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

They could end up cutting payroll this year and have a stronger team. Another move I could see them making is to take Kevin Brown from the Yanks if they pay his salary...and then move Hampton. I think if I had control of the team with their current budget, I would:

A) Trade Hampton to the Cubs with a prospect for Sosa and Farnsworth with the Cubs eating about half of Sosa's contract. That would be a wash in money and give the Braves a great reliever and an RF.

B) Trade Crisco Jones anywhere for a bag of pretzels and a 6-pack of German beer. You could sign a player that cares to take his spot.

C) Take Kevin Brown from the Yanks and make them pay his salary. Even if he sucks you can start a kid from the minors.

D) Sign 2 of the 3 of Madglio, Moises, and Jaques. You would still have Francouer and Marte in the minors to bring up next year or in 2007. I am surprised that they are thinking of converting Marte to the OF....but it worked with Chipper for a while.

btw....the Johnny Estrada deal gave Scheurholtz a 5 year moratorium on criticizing. How the hell does he do it?
