Depending on the food involved, I'd take a average Pinot Noir over a good Merlot almost any time As Pherr says, though, one can't really suggest wines without knowing the menu and budget.Tenuvil wrote:Can't go wrong with a good Merlot, ever

Agree that pinot noirs are damn good wines. However, as Cano pointed out, I too am no sommelier by any stretch.
