Anyone plan on catching this on the Scifi channel next week?
For those who don't know its based on the Wizard of Earthsea books by URSULA GUIN.
I haven't heard anything about yet? Does anyone know how close the orignal story line the mini-series will follow?

I plan on taping it. It looks like good fun. It has a nice cast.

So far, the acting sucks almost to the point of being unbearable. I will give it a chance to redeem itself yet, though.

I almost felt as if I were watching a cliche in action. I'll continue watching it but I am not overly concerned about taping it.

Wasn't too impressed with the acting to say the least and also the aerial views of the cities looked extremely fake.

After reading those comments, this may sit TIVO'd unviewed until it auto deletes!

Yeah, I agree about the aerial shots, looks like bottom rung CG to me.

This is horrible lol. It's not just the acting, it's the writing too. I tried for 30 mins to watch the thing and it's just unbearably shitty.

I feel sorry for Usula K. LeGuin. They did NOT do the books justice. Had some cute ladies in it though

Just finished watching the second part. At the end they say what happened to sparrowhawk and the hot girl are a different story, which story is this, I might read the books someday.

This was the "Follow the Formula" story. It was alright but nothing I would linger on if I were flipping channels.

I think it broke a world record for "most rushed ending evar".
It was a sci fi movie, I didn't expect much, and got what I expected...a quickly thrown together fantasy movie, that undoubtably did the books no justice whatsoever (Never read the books).

The trilogy has actually turned into 4 books if I recall. Been a long time since I read them. This did not cover book 4 at all I believe and not all of book 3 but as I said.. been a LONG time.

I was pretty annoyed with myself that I forgot to set my Tivo to record this until I read this thread, and especially Le Guin's comments. Now it definitely seems that I'm not missing anything.

Well, for anyone that still wants to see this (for whatever reason) I believe they are airing it all in one block on sunday at 6pm central time.
