So it's been almost a week, what do you think about WoW?

Personally I love it, I'm truly enjoying the quest structure and the story. Given my highest character is only 13 (almost 14) but so far I think it's too cool.

It's pretty neat so far. The only dungeon I've been in for any period of time was very well done.

I've been popping on and off primarily doing quests and trade skills as I get materials, nothing seems to be a grind (yet).

Having a great time. :) I haven't had a lot of time to play with the holiday and all, and I'm playing the same character I took to 22ish in beta. I'm trying to get caught up so I can start experiencing some new content, but I'm trying some new tradeskills I hadn't tried before, and having a great time. :)
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Bakara and I are loving it! Part of it is the dynamic of the group we have and the fact that we aren't worrying a bit about what level we are. We are just enjoying our time with no pressure. I'm actually having more fun now than I did in EQ1. We did our 1st instance last night and wow!!

The game itself is fabulous. I cant think of a single negative to say!

I love the game so far (to 21).

Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of play time as I have my wife's family visiting.

Frankly. Take your time to level up, and enjoy the ride... Because at the top, there really isn't that much left to do. Except try Onyxia and the fire elemental god. But seeing as how Onyxia annihilated all raids so far, and she's supposed to be the easy one, be vewy scared.

I'm still enjoying the free European beta so far... And really hoping they decide not to wipe us like they did for the US one. Hope springs eternal. :)

It's hard not to level unless you're farming green and below mobs. Just running aorund doing quest turn ins netted me most of level 27 last night.

Starting to regret not being a rog/mag. War taunt is broken to shit as it stands right now. Was fun in beta, but I started to experiment Mag/pally towards the end and didnt realize they nerfed wars to hell and back.

Although, I did manage to get my hands on this little gem lastnight!

Love the game but the community is a bunch of raging retards. On day one there was a post in every class forum on why X class needed nerfed and how Blizzard has to act now!! and all that crap. Personally I would love to see people just play the game and not try to make the devs change the game to suit their play style. The whine fest destroyed EQ in the name of "balance" and I would hate to see it happen here. It is what it is, just play the fuckin game.

On day one I had a toon named Eonar, after they brought up the new servers my Eonar toon was gone and I cant make another, server rejects the name. Beyond that I cant think of a single negative thing in the week I have played.

There are bugs that need fixing (people getting stuck on the zeplin load screen for 24+ hours, skills dissapearing, ect), but the overall game is a lot of fun. I reserve my judgement until I see the raid stuff, however. If it ends up being another game where you need "60 of your closest friends" to do even the most basic raid content, I will quit right then and there. So far, however, the instances have been a lot of fun and reasonably challenging without flat out requiring a certain class makeup to complete.

I disagree on the warriors being useless thing, Mort. From what I have seen, warriors have zero problem holding agro as long as the people in their group arent retarded and going balls out on DPS right at the start of a fight. The real problem in this game is the retarded people playing it, which is somewhat alleviated if you bring in your own guild with you and play within that group, exclusively. Unfortunately that does not protect you from retards who follow your group around popping named quest mobs while you are clearing its guards, or dipshits who are trying to follow your group's crawling to loot quest spawns and end up training the shit out of you with their low level agro bullshit. You also get to deal with morons who sent you tells demanding that you escort their level 10 asses through a level 17 elite quest. The sheer stupidity of the entire Bnet crowd is really appalling, making some of the worst morons I ever played with in EQ look like MMORPG pros. I think the main reason you are seeing people turbo level is to get past the wave of retardation that is the Bnet crowd, but unfortunately, there is even less to stop these tards from reaching 60 than there was in EQ.

While that is true for them getting levels, I am already noticing a disparity in gear when I compare Ixtlan people to <Random_Jackass_3635>.

I could not agree more with you Jice, I just got used to the old taunt and this cooldown is pissing me off. And you're right, as long as I can get the 1st few swings in, all is well.

Im still having a blast, dont get me wrong. As far as Bnet goes, I was excited to finally make it to wetlands lastnight thinking I gotten past all the OMG U r s0 L33t crowd, Only to find out it's fucking Lake of Ill Omens 10 fold. Baby Jebus weeps.

It sucks, but I was forced to /leave 1. Thank you Blizzard for that atleast.

I haven't had any problems in Wetlands, but then again I almost completely ignore the general channel. I've had very few problems with people. I've had a couple of cases where we were going to kill a named elite for a quest, and some other group would leap frog us while we were clearing, or resting, and a couple of cases of other groups wiping out in non instance quest areas and taking my group with them. But for the most part I've had almost no problems. But, I also solo pretty exclusively except for elite stuff that I just can't do on my own.

There needs to be a timer on the ability to skin a beast if it is not killed by your group. This would prevent the assholes that follow groups around to ninja-skin their kills (ie the caverns leading to WC). That is my only valid gripe so far. Hopefully, small tweaks can be made here and there to make it more difficult for asshats to fuck over other players/groups.

Example:

Group A kills raptor on way to WC zl. Any member of Group A can skin beast right after loot.

Asshat_Bnet_D1p$h11 has to wait 5 minutes in order to skin....

If a monster corpse has loot on it, it cannot be skinned, but lootless ones can. Personally, I think no one but the killer should be allowed to skin, but thats just me.

Not a bad idea, that would slow skinning\leatherworking down to a pace with the other tradeskills as well.

It's possible that skinning by people other than the killer is by design. It basically eliminates a corpse in a quick manner, perhaps lowering the amount of things the server(s) have to track. I agree with Cane, a timer seems like the best way to go.

I dont like the timer idea, I think if you put a timer on, asshats would follow you for even LONGER because now they have to wait for their skins, putting them near the line of fire for a longer time. So I agree with jice, you kill it, its only yours to skin.

Personally I like the ability to skin anything laying there I haven't had any asshats following me around yet. I'm sure I will though but since I'm skinning it won't do them any good :) I'm almost 150 on skinning but still less than 75 on leatherworking :( must... catch... up...

It would be nice to have the opportunity to skin your kill without having to be Johnny Quickdraw directly after looting is all I am saying. Timer 30-60 seconds would be fine even.

I've never had anyone following me around, but I have had someone snarf a skin from me because I was making room for the incoming skin in my inventory. On the other hand, I always wait until the person runs away from the corpse before I swoop in and skin it.
