Ok, short version. Taking the lead of another mod, I tried putting in place a 'no flame' rule in the EQ forum, where I'm a mod, to try an continue productive conversations instead of the 'you're a liberal pussy' crap every other post. Kyu and others didn't apperiacate it, I edited a post after asking her and Dregor both to quit, which I will freely admit was a mistake in my judgement. At that point, she posted she would never post again as long as I am a mod.

Few minutes later, some of the mods had a talk on the mod board. I recinded the rule before I was even asked by the board admin and apologized for it. Elapsed time was maybe 30 minutes. A couple of days later when it became apparent that she was going to stand by her word, I then offered to step down as a moderator so that she could continue to interact with her friends, that was then declined by the board admin and other mods.

I'm sorry for both inconviences (the lapse in judgement & her not posting), and my offer still stands to the other mods.

I usually enjoy Puddleposts, but IF that's the reason she's not posting anymore - well, that's just fucking childish. Even though what Akaran did was pretty childish in it's own right ( in my opinion, anyways - you could argue that the "you liberal pussy" argument is childish as well, but fuck, that's what I read VV for~ ), he did fix the problem and apologize for it.

I probably shouldn't let the cat out of the bag, but since she said it on IRC it's not top secret or anything...

She's been working with Ann Coulter, in a sort of Hannity and Combs type thing, only behind the scenes. Ann bounces her column off her and gets feedback, in order to tweak it to maximum anti-liberal.

She didn't come out and say it, but I think she's actually starting to like Ann. She even mentioned moving to California.

My opinion:

It's good that Akaran apologized for what he did. I would have liked it if that were enough.

Clearly Akaran's rule and attempt at enforcement was wrong. The thing that particularly bothers me is that it was directed at Kyo, who Akaran clearly dislikes and has disliked for a long time. He even admits that he dislikes her. I'm not really bothered by the fact that some mod had a power trip, I'm bothered that a mod had a power trip specifically directed at the people he doesn't like. In that sense, I can see where Kyoukan is coming from.

I don't think Akaran should be forced to step down at all, but I wouldn't find it inappropriate if he chose to step down on his own. Of course, I don't know how many other people there are who are knocking down doors to moderate the EQ forum.

Basically: Akaran's actions were childish and stupid. Kyoukan's response is stubborn and reactionary. Welcome to VV.

Akaran did something he shouldn't have, apologized, and is never going to do again. Anything need for more than that is some sort of self importance issue kyoukan has for pushing the issue.

kyoukan can do whatever the fuck she wants. Most people are indifferent. You are fucked in the head if you start calling for Akaran do step down simply because kyoukan is a cunt.

This is manufactured drama from a person that can't accept an apology. It will come back if it wants to but otherwise, be clear that the reason for the departure is some sort of liberal analism affliction...not happy unless you're fighting "The Man".

Have you had your coffee yet Voro? Akaran was trying to moderate personal flames in his forum as Aranuil had tried to do as well. He apologized and fixed the issue. It's no special hate for kyoukan.

This thread was retarded from the first post and should have been moved to the retards section or at the very least, general discussion. This is neither a current event, or a topic worthy of discussion except for, perhaps, by the few idiots that get owned by kyoukan every time she posts.

My post was a sarcastic response to the thread. We all know that everything can be funny in context, or at least we should know that now. That said, if I'm sarcastically recommending that someone kill themselves, there's a good chance that the thread was retarded to begin with. Sorry I didn't put sarcasm tags, but given my posting history, which Brotha being the 'sharp as a tack' poster that he is so conveniently pointed out, that should have been obvious to anyone who reads these boards. Oh yeah... except for to the idiots that are excited that kyoukan hasn't been destroying them for the last two weeks.

So have your fun, but I'm sure she'll be back in good time, and she'll still be smarter than you, and you'll still flail like idiots.
