basically, it's a rollup monitor/tv display using glowing plastics, and does not need a backlight like current LCD's. Will be so thin it can be rolled up.

I love hearing stuff like that.

I just hope they don't cost $10,000 like a plasma tv does. :D

Neat stuff, with luck it might drive prices down on the other "thin" TVs/monitors.

That would probably help Neal out immensely too.

Something that doesn't relate in anyway besides being new technology is a new jet engine they're developing. Currently I think the fastest jets can go mach 3 but with the new engine they'll be able to go mach 8...thats 5000 mph. They're saying it could replace the space shuttle.

The F-22 can't go mach 5 its top speed is about mach 1.8. It is however the first jet that can cruise at supersonic speeds of about mach 1.2 with out using an afterburner .

Denadeb Learn your aircraft , the cruise speed of F22 is 1.4 It can max at about 3-4 (temp humidity pressure deendant). I worked with the fly off between the 22 and 23 , thats how I know these minute details. The bomb was beeing able to see an A-7 go supersonic. Anyone who knows Aircraft will say thats a friggin sight.
With the newer techs coming up ie;Scam jets and some others , current flight will be a joke. Coast to coast in 40 mins anyone ?
