Two things that make me feel better.

#1 Bush got the popular vote.

#2 Daschle got rejected by his state. That guy was a punk.

I was very happy to see Daschle get the boot as well. He is scum of the earth and a huge part of the problem that is American politics. I don't know if his successor will be much better but at least he is gone.

i dont know as much about Daschle as you guys do. I do know he was a big target of the GOP and they got him.

I'm definitely glad the election was not decided by the Supreme Court, the Congress, a bunch of hanging chads, broken electronic machines, etc.

Bush will take this result as a mandate, and we will see if the people who have made this electoral choice are better off for it over the next 4 years and beyond.

Me either...I always thought he was ok and moderate, but I hadn't looked up much about him before.

Wasn't he the one that *supposedly* killed the DC girl? Funny that I can't remember what happened considering I live next to DC.

No that was not him, but I am glad he is gone too. That's the only silver lining I have for today.

After Jumping Jim Jeffords switched parties to the democrats, Daschle was the guy who took control of the senate as majority leader and proceeded to block judicial nominees, stall any pro republican senate procedure, and in general act like he was king of America every time the house, senate, and president tried to do anything. He was the guy who bars the door when everyone is trying to move things through it.

Day after day I'd hear his speeches about how he was going to opose this or that with a paternal holier than thou mannerism that made me cringe.

Fortunately 2 years ago, the senate was wrangled from the democrats and Mr. Obstruct Everything was removed from his pedestal.

Ah that's right.. it was Gary Condit, sorry about that :)

For some reason I associate Daschle with murder and death.

Don't be sad guys! You did it, all by yourself! The world is proud of you for bringing democracy back to America.

Adex, 95% of George Bush's judicial nominees have made it through the Senate in the last 4 years.

We all better hope his predecessor keeps a similar record.

You have to hear Daschle's senate floor speeches to fully appreciate how annoying he was.

i think the worst thing that this election will result in is the further vindication of the Karl Rove "school" of campaigning.

well the worst thing will be the Supreme Court shift, and probably about 20 other things, but that part will suck too :p

You think the dems had a more wholesome campaign strategy? Come on, tell me what you really meant.
