Mid-Election Day Poll

Post by Midnyte_Ragebringer »

I think Kerry is going to win. It's make me sick. But, early reporting is just giving me this pit in my stomach that he is going to win.

It's been said before, you don't go out of you way to wait on lines for more of the same, you do it because you're pissed off at the direction the country has taken

From this thread in late August\early September.
Forthe wrote:I stand by the 60%. I base it on my view that we'll see a much larger voter turnout this time. With the low voter participation typical of US elections there is a huge potential difference from previous election results. I believe the motivation is there this time, most people seem to believe this election is important. When was the last time a non politcal individual gave a fuck about an election.
Turnout seems to be going well.

Out of curiosity, what early reporting are you referring to? I can't seem to see any indicators yet from any reputable sources.

there are basically only things on rumor sites like Drudge that i'm seeing. but he did have that on his headline earlier.

i will say that you dont have to know exit poll numbers to get an idea of what the election is going to be like. Record turnouts in PA already (by noon, they had equalled the total day 2000 turnout), NM, and probably Florida - at the least - should benefit Kerry.

So nobody is talking about exit poll data yet (other than saying Kerry voters say economy is top issue, Bush say Moral Issues are top issue), so that is really all i've seen.

also nother tidbit.. 5% of bush voters say they're worried their vote wont get counted, where as for kerry voters it's 13%

CNN's got the infos!!

Holy crap, that's accurate?

One party or another, it's pretty damn cool seeing people turn out in record numbers. It's pretty cool reading stories about people seeing their neighbors and catching up.

The country may be divided, but this is a refreshing and really happy feeling that I'm getting that the country is re-realizing it's ability to pose change. Really, I feel great because of the way the country is going out today.

In my county (which is almost completely occupied by the city of San Antonio), we had 256,000 early voters over the last two weeks, out of a population of about 1.25 million. Of course, I am not sure what portion of the 1.25 mil are registered (or at least eligible to be registered) voters, but that's big numbers.

Yeah, its nice to see so many US people vote, NO MATTER who they vote for.

Its a tad embarassing to see the low voting turnout you guys have had, read in a danish newpaper that the US were actually at a 137th place on the list of voting percentage in democratic countries (havent been able to find an english article to verify it from though, anyone got a link?).

The only thing I've seen so far is Drudge stuff:
Exit poll mania spread through media and campaign circles Tuesday afternoon after first wave of morning data showed Kerry competitive in key states.... National Election Pool -- representing six major news organization -- shows Kerry in striking distance -- with small 1% lead -- in Florida and Ohio, sources tell DRUDGE... [But early 2000 exit polls showed Gore +3 in Florida; showed Gore-Bush even in CO [Bush won by 9], 2000 exits showed Gore +4 in AZ [Bush won by 6]... Exits Senate races: Thune +4 Castor +3 Burr +6 Bunning +6 Coburn +6 Demint +4 Salazar +4...
Seems Republicans vote later in the day!

Hard to say anything definitive except that there's a pretty big voter turnout.

Do not become worried yet, the day is a long way from over and the press appears to be very low key after declaring a Gore victory in 2000. ;)

p.s. read your damn PM ;)

My guess is Drudge...
They had some leaked polls posted. Admitedly unreliable.
