I see that George Bush is planning to declare himself emperor after he steals this election. With most of the military spread out around the world, he'll have no trouble subjugating the populace with a few legions of Sardaukar.
You heard it here first, people. I'll probably be marked for death when he realizes that I can anticipate his every move before he makes it.

Its not terribly hard to draw the right conclussion here. I mean, its just history repeating itself. The Bush Corp could pretty much permanently transform the US into a two class corperate state with another four year term, so they are pulling out all the stops to do it. I find it hard to believe that they are this brazen about it, though. If I were Rove, I would have picked one of the quieter battleground states to pull this kind of shit, especially with all th scrutiny on florida this time out.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.

This is fucking ridiculous....
I bet in 20-25 years all the people involved in this case are going to write books about how they fixed the election. And make millions off it.

Sylvus you dumbass.
the senate would have to vote emergency powers to the president, and then he would then raise a new grand army of the republic from an outsourced contractor that has been breeding clones for this purpose since 1999.
My only concern is whether we have the technology to really build Ion Drives powerful enough to get the Star Destroyers off of earth especially on VTOL takeoff.
so in summary, you are fucking dumb, because we dont have the technology to do that, if we lived on a planet whose gravitational field was 0.8G then you might have a point fuckwit!!!

Voro, with the Star Destroyer's size, they would almost certainly be assembled in orbit. I believe that the "space station" is not a space station at all, but is a GOP funded construction of a Star Destroyer. If the liberal media were to find out things would get ugly...so it is vary secret. This is just the first step towards the final goal of GWB's own Death Star.

Did they check the couch cushions? I found like, 43 cents there the other day.
I'm sure those 58,000 ballots were just individually misplaced, and this is in no way further justification for surgically removing Florida from the mainland, effectively completing america's castration.
And the acquisition of a Star Destroyer would probably make the american people very happy. Hell, it's the only exlpaination for where all the money went after W took office. Besides the possibility that it's all in the couch cushions next to the florida ballots.

i think the ballots missing is probably an innocent accident. i honestly do.
i thin that there are a lot of attempts at shenanigans on the part of both parties, but unless one party has disporoportionate use of absentee ballots, then i'm not sure this actually matters. many of the people are going to early voting anyway

Star Wars geek commentary here...
In Episode 2, the ships we saw the clone army boarding are not the same type of Star Destroyer shown in Episodes 4, 5, and 6. They are the smaller, lighter armed, Victory-Class Star Destroyers. Episodes 4 5 and 6 show off the 'next generation' of Star Destroyers, the Imperial Class. The I-Class SDs weigh in about about two to three times the length of a V-SD with more than 4 times the firepower. I-SDs are also capable of fielding a full wing of Tie fighters (72 ships - which breaks down to, I think, 24 T/IN {intercepters / squints}, 12 T/B {bombers}, and 36 standard TIE fighters) in addition to a full compliment of dropships, 'pre fab' drop bases, ATAT/ATST droppods, and other support vehicles (TIE/T tanks, Skipray class blastboats, ect).
It is very unlikely we will see I-SD's in Episode 3.
Here's a full breakdown of SD progression.
Victory class Star Destroyer
Imperial class Star Destroyer
Interdiction class Star Destroyer (smaller than an I-SD, carries little in terms of weaponry and is not designed as a battleship, but is equipped with 4 'gravity well projectors' which can cause ships in hyperspace to be violently ejected back into realspace in the same manner that if they buzzed too close to a planetary mass)
Imperial 2 class Star Destroyer / ISD II (made an apperance in Episode 6, is simply a slightly larger, more armored, more powerful version of a I-SD)
Super Star Destroyer (Imperial flagship. Only ~3-5 ever made. Most well known SSD is the SSD Executioner, Vader's flagship. This is the largest vessel the Imperial Navy ever made with exceptions of the Death Star and the Galaxy Gun shown in one of the StarWars comics published by Dark Horse)
Size comparisions:
VSD vs ISD: ISD is ~2-3x larger.
ISD vs ISD II: ISD II is less than one fourth of the size larger of an ISD.
SSD vs ISD: a SSD is longer than 5 ISDs put together, back to back, and carries ~10x times more troops, firepower, ships, and armor.
/geek off.

Sadly, the designers also programed it to ram the Death Star should it ever take a hit to the main bridge. This flaw stunted its popularity in the growing imperial fleet. Vader, hower, insisted on keeping one for himself, inspite of the sound advice from Admiral Piet. When out of earshot, many abord his ship suspect Vader is compensating for something.SSD vs ISD: a SSD is longer than 5 ISDs put together, back to back, and carries ~10x times more troops, firepower, ships, and armor.

Yes. Its true the Death Star is under super secret construction at the ISS, and GW is ready to exact supreme power over the world. But dont forget, the rebels have already developed the x-wing fighters (publicly known as SpaceShipOne). The x-wing fleet is in quick assembly and will be ready to destroy the Death Star before it become operational.
Also, dont forget about the two drones the rebels have sent to Tatooine...errr I mean Mars. Mere Rovers they are not. They have already sought out the savior of earth. They will soon be returning with the fledgling Jedi just in time defeat GW.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these absnetee ballots that didn't reach the voters and not filled out ballots that somehow vanished? Meaning there's ample opportunity to get new ones or just show up at the polls? Are these missing ballots specific to one party or the other, to one district or another, or what?

I doubt Episode 2's ships were Victory Class, Victory Class SDs look the same as Imperial SDs, just smaller and less powerful. The ones in episode two are not only small but different in design. I think they were trying to show that the ships were new and eventually new designs came out like the victory and then the imperial.

I guess when you look at things with some common sense they don't affect you like it does the masses. You don't all into a tizzy without hard factual evidence. Factless claims and acusations do seem to work on the libs like a fucking charm though.Winnow wrote:Why won't it surprise me when it's discovered democrats did this themselves to "stir up controversy even if there's no evidence" per their instructions in the campaign guide book?
so if that 70% of the absentee ballot went for Gore, and lets say half of those people dont end up voting, then it would be a net loss of 6,000 Kerry votes, which is significant.
at any rate, i think there is a lot of bullshit going on, i just dont think this is necessarily anything other than some drunk mailman driving into a canal.

I certainly agree, generally, that when selecting between stupidity and malice, stupidity is usually the better bet. This is even more true when teh post office is involved. But that is in a vacuum. This is not a vacuum.
We already have proof of the government intentionally trying to prevent black votes in FLA by way of having their names errantly on "felony" lists. Lists that intentionally do not have cuban felons (e.g. those felons likely to vote for the Governer's borther). Again, in a vacuum, one would be inclined to blame that on buerocratic mismanagement. However, these are the same names that were on the list last election that should have been removed. The cuban felons that were not on the list last year are still not on it and the Dems had to fight, in court, to be allowed to look at the lists.
At some point, and personally I think we are past that point, you stop giving stupidity the benefit of the doubt and presume malice until proven otherwise.

VSD's actually are different in design. While maintaing the same triangular look and the command bridge, they don't feature as many "outer layers" on the deck and - according to some tech manuals I have - do have a fairly long observation deck that looks a lot like a lance.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
