Playing from Image

Post by Bubba Grizz »

I am having a problem with Medieval: Total War playing from the image on a virtual drive. I create the image using Alcohol 120% and use the Safe Disc 2/3 copy protection. When I mount the image it comes up and asks me if I want to play and so forth but when I click on Play it tells me I have to insert the correct cd. This should be the correct cd.

Could someone with the game and the other software test this out for me and see if I am just insane?

If you have the expansion, viking invasion installed. You must insert that disc, even if you aren't playing the viking invasion. If you do not, you must insert disc 1 of the 2 discs.

I play with the cd's...so I don't know how to help with the protection, but that's what happens for me when I play.

Makes sense. As a general rule of thumb when you install an expansion for a game it updates the executable and requires the expansion CD for the copy protection.

Nah. I have the available drive space so keeping images on there is no big deal. Also, I found that when using the cracks and then going into multiplayer mode it acts like it is a different version so you can't connect to each other unless the other guy gets the crack as well. This is hit or miss for the most part.
