I get this error when I click to install, and the installer pops up:
The InstallShieldEngine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched
Any input would be appreciated.
deleted all temporary files, and am not running anti virus software at the time of install, so no interferance there.
Thanks in advance

you shouldn't have to install your own installshield. they are self running executables. did it still not install after rebooting?

search for the error at Microsoft.com
there is a documented installshield error in Windows 2000 that can come in to play with this sort of program installation.
there should be a fix listed.

I get a message similar to that with certian applications when installing on a CITRIX Server. Problem is a rights issue to the Winnt\system32 folder. Login to the machine as Administrator (if win 2000) or as someone with admin rights (if XP) and take ownership of the winnt\system32 folder. If that doesn't work, not sure what to tell ya.
Not sure if that is your issue, but something to look at.

thanks for the relies,
Its a win98SE machine, and nothing I tried at microsoft, including a clean boot worked, so I reinstalled Windows, and all fixed now.
