RE2: Apocalypse
Ok, it was good for what it was. I think it stayed 'kinda' faithful to the RE2 story, up until the end.
There were some pretty big plot holes, though. And the ending has me ticked off.
Aside from that.. yes, you do get to see Milla Jovovich (briefly) partly nude. Not a major highpoint, but worth mentioning because it's the only part of the end worth knowing.

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

I liked it, it was what it was, nothing more and nothing less. Overall I thought it was much better than the first one. As far as game to movie goes I can't really think of a more entertaining one, some pretty good comedy relief thrown in. Oh and the actress playing Jill Valentine is hot!

Saw it last night.. good fun.
Great pacing, acceptable acting and loads of zombies.
Only thing I didn't care for was how he shot the fight scenes. Way too herky-jerky. I figure Mila isn't the most talented or graceful 'action star' and seeing as she did most of the fight scenes the director had to compensate for her awkwardness.
A side note, the movie was shot in Toronto and most of the key scenes were filmed at instantly recognizeable locations.
The 'city hall' is Toronto City Hall, the school used is Central Tech which is just around the corner from me.
There's something strangely appealing about seeing your hometown get nuked in a movie.

The "Nemesis" concept is used in RE2, but the Nemesis himself appears the 3rd game. I think the character would have been a lot more intimidating and (too tired to think of the right word here...cool, maybe?) if he were like the monster from the game. The emotional big-bear who just needed a hug reminded me too much of Frankenstein's monster in Van Helsing, and we all know how that went.
IMO, Nicholai should have been kept true to his game-character as well.

I think Nicholai was the coolest character. I like seeing that guy in something since Titus went off the air. I think maybe they tried to fit too much of the game into the movie thus screwing it up. Much like the AD&D movie. That would have been much better if they hadn't tried to fit every aspect of the game into the movie.
the mistake was making the first movie have almost nothing to do with the original game. when that upset the fans they tried to cram more of the games' ideas and characters into this one, but without following the storyline, making most of them useless and uninteresting (like MK:A).
the games' storyline, similar sometimes to a book's, is what made the series so successful, inspiring the first movie. when anderson (who also trashed avp imo) and whoever drifted away from it, we get a water-downed eye-candy version.

Did anyone here actually read the Resident Evil series of books?
I thought they were really good.

You know all this talk of Nemesis makes me think of my favorite bad ass name, Nemesis Enforcer from G.I. Joe the movie. Take two cool words like Nemesis and Enforcer now put them together and it equals bad ass. Sorry had that in my head for a while had to share

This was the worst fucking peice of shit ever. I swear this movie was written and directed by a 12 year old. That's exactly what it seemed like, every single line was shit, the acting was horrible...not to mention Shawn of the Dead had better, and scarier looking zombies. The "nemisis" or whatever the fuck looked absolutely retarded, especially the movement of that character.
I actually enjoyed the first movie, but this was just pure crap. How something like this ever made it into theatres is beyond me.
and...
WHOEVER CAST VALENTINE SHOULD BE FUCKING SHOT. That actress isn't even worthy of Telemundo soap operas. Really though, was that like a pornstar making a cameo or something? Clearly they did not cast that woman for acting talent...

I just watched it today and found it hilariously stupid. I could go on about how crappy and just plan shitty it is (ie. the gun shop which also sold designer clothes AND had a harley conveniently sitting out front (which was later randomly crashed into a church where other people happened to be)) but I would lose sleep over it.
