MTV, ROLLING STONE and the rock and roll establishment -- past and present -- have cast their vote, and their man is John Kerry.
So on Sunday night when John Kerry's daughters were announced to speak at the annual MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, the MTV youth were expected to welcome his daughter's as pop culture princesses.
Instead, in an era of the unexpected, the daughters of the Democratic candidate were met with cheers -- AND JEERS -- during the live broadcast in Miami.
From the moment Alexandra and Vanessa started speaking, the boos outweighed anything close to cheers, and the reaction turned worse when the daughters asked the VIACOM youth to vote for their father. So shocked by the reaction, the taller of the two daughters tried to 'shhhhhh' her peers to no avail.

I caught that last night on TV as I was flipping around.
There was both cheering and booing which shouldn't be surprising to anyone. Was hard to gauge the reaction to the Bush siblings as the crowd volume was muted when they played their taped comments.

Re: Kerry daughters shocked by some protest?
I can verify it for ya. Watched it last night. They did get boos, they also got cheers - I don't think either was greater than the other. And like mentioned above, the crowed was mostly muted when the Bush girls were talking so it wouldn't be right to say they didn't get the same reaction.Metanis wrote:No verification of this story. imho I think they took too much time in that segment of the four daughters talking. It was an entertainment night, not a political party. But then again, by that time the VMA's were sucking balls so it didn't likely affect anything. People were walking out of the VMA's well before that started.

If MTV really wants kids to give a shit, they should have the Bush girls start making out with the Kerry girls. THAT would be gold.

If humiliation was the goal, they could have had a "Hot or Not" instant audience poll displayed for each of the daughters.Metanis wrote:That's totally WRONG!masteen wrote:If MTV really wants kids to give a shit, they should have the Bush girls start making out with the Kerry girls. But still funny.

The Bush daughters appeared by satellite, and the Kerry daughters were live in Miami for the MTV Video Music Awards. The crowd was not kind to any of the girls. A mixture of boos and cheers met the Kerry girls, and once the boos got louder and reigned down on the Kerry girls, Alexandra, of the see through dress fame, stuck a finger to her lips and shushed the audience.
That didn’t go over very well as the boos continued. Once the Bush twins appeared on screen they got the same treatment by what must have been a divided crowd. The biggest chorus of boos came when John Kerry's blonde daughter Vanessa asked the MTV crowd to “hopefully vote for our father.”
Why is this important?
The left constantly tells anyone who will listen that John Kerry’s “ace in the hole” in this election is younger voters…aka ‘the MTV crowd.’ Younger voters may or may not turn out in large numbers, but if this crowd is any indication, they are hardly in lock step behind John Kerry.
The trouble for the left's MTV will save the day theory--many in the MTV crowd will be voting for President George W. Bush.
so basically the mtv crowd doesnt like spoiled rich cunts of any political affiliation? wow this is newsworthy.
at least they managed to sober up the bush sisters long enough for them to make a statement where they wont be slurring their words and vomiting on their secret service agents.

Then I felt bad laughing at someone who is obviously feeling subpar.
I'm sorry you're not feeling well Kooky, perhaps you should take a few MIDOL® and lay down with a cold wet cloth on your forehead.
