Fan of Michael Moore?

I knew he wasn't exactly an honest, unbiased guy, but I never thought he went to these lengths to make his points.

I've seen Bowling for Columbine and this completely blows me away. Here's just one sequence of scenes dissected. If you've seen Bowling for Columbine, read this. It will completely change your opinion of him and the film. I didn't know someone could edit parts of someone's speech, put it together to make him say something he never actually said, and still have his film considered a "documentary."

Hmm, your links come from a page whos only goal is do discredit Michael Moore.
And strangely enough with all these problems this page list, with all the interest and powe the RIAA got, noone have been able to pull him in court and prove anything wrong with the movie.

If i make a page, and start listing lies in a Disney movie for example, it dont neccesarily make my claims true.

Before I watched Bowling for Columbine, I had seen all these sites trying to discredit Michael Moore... and for the most part, they are just as guilty as Mr Moore is in telling only part of the truth.

I don't think anyone with half a brain takes what Michael Moore says at face value. He produces films that are shocking, entertaining and make you think. He has never tried to pass off his films as unbiased and 100% truthful.

Wether you like his 'documentaries' or not, you can't deny that he is doing a pretty good job at motivating the American people to search out information and educate themselves on a lot of issues.

Not only am I aware of that, I am also aware that the cost of living in those countries is higher as well. So don't try to make it sound like those frozen wastelands are some kind of socialist fucking utopia.

The average Scandinavian lives better than the average American, hence why all 3 countries are rated above the US. Last time we went there my gf had to go to a doctor. As a foreigner it cost her less than $20 including a week's use of medication.

I was taking about the total COLA: rent, food, transportation, everything. From what I understand, food is pretty expensive compared to here in the states, as is rent. And isn't standing in line and national passtime over there?

So what if its from a far right wing page and some of the other claims they make are obviously BS? I first read about this somewhere else, I just wanted a link to post here. Those two specific links are both factual, look them up from other sources yourself if you want.

Like I said, when I saw Bowling for Columbine a couple of years ago I took it with a grain of salt because I knew Michael Moore had an agenda, but it is amazing how distorted it really is.

He hasn't been succesfully ahuled into court because technically the words are still theirs. He totally misrepresents the words by splicing and misleading context, but they did say the words. Moore has great lawyers.

It doesn't make it OK if you can't be prosecuted under existing laws. The hell kind of thinking is that?

Is anyone honestly a "fan" of Moore? The guy is, on the whole, a self-promoting turd, no better than conservative talk radio cro-mags. I admit, I have a soft spot for BfC though. The movie is, for the most part, well made, and it raises some important questions about western civilization. Near the end, of course, Moore takes off with it and acts like a prick to appease the more retarded liberals, but the film is worth a watch for the middle hour or so. If you watch that part, you can't even tell what kind of political slant the guy has.

By the way, anyone who thinks BfC is an "anti gun" movie has obviously never seen it or done any research on it. It's anything but.

Actually, much as I hate to say it, being given bad intelligence, Bush or Moses, would indeed make them not lies, and not just on a technicality either. It absolutely is possible to say something that is not correct, but that you honestly believe to be correct when you say it. Thats called being mistaken. A lie is when you knowingly say something incorrect. Mind you, willfully avoiding learning the truth in order to later be able to claim you werent lying is morally equivalent to a lie. And being genuinely too stupid to question and confirm your facts when its important isnt exactly something to brag about.

Which category Bush falls in, liar, mistaken, decietful or stupid, is another discussion.

I never said the I wanted to have he U.S attack any scandanavian countries I was just making a statement to Kelshara to stop tearing down the US and putting his country on a pedastal.

Its possible he was referring to the Russia/Finland winter war back in 1939 (Finland is part of scandinavia, and was just a tad outnumbered and out-teched by Russia), since thats also the war where France got the reputation for surrendering that you included in your comment...

heh only country I can think of in Scandinavia that surrendered off of the top of my head was Denmar in WWII and well.. they really didn't have much choice. Of course, people love to point at France for surrendering to Germans but the French resistance saved a ton of allied lives during the war.
