Raiders and Tim Brown
Lets hear your opinions. Do you think it is fair of Al Davis to cut Tim Brown from the team ? The guy has lived and died with the Raiders. Yes he has slowed down, but what do you expect froma 38yr old man.

Al left him the option to stay or go, if he stayed he'd be a 4th option only because that is where his skills are, but he'd still be paid his full fat contract. It was a classy move by Al really, he didn't tell him he needed to make less money, only that his role would be less because his ability to go long is gone

Al Davis must really love Tim, because usually he has no compunctions about dealing his players (and coaches) like playing cards.

I dare say with the number of times Tim could have gone elsewhere to play and stayed a Raidah you could say it was only right. Al is an odd guy, but he isn't dumb enough to spit on someone that loyal, and lets face it, he knew Tim would go, and in this case he can say it was Tim's choice.masteen wrote:Al Davis must really love Tim, because usually he has no compunctions about dealing his players (and coaches) like playing cards.
And I'll add, Tim is not better then a 3rd down possession receiver on any team in the NFL, but there are teams that could use him to tutor the younger players.
