Some days...

Some days....

I miss Norrath.

cliff diving off the giant statue in permafrost
lava tube swimming in sol b
marathon swims in lake rathe
standing atop the guard tower and watching the sun set between the spires of North Karana
Sliding down the muddy creek of trakanon's teeth
visiting the little known froglok town in the swamp of no hope
running the gauntlet as a warrior to ToV
remembering the chill the first time I saw the fear portal
remembering the thrill of breaking Hate
waking the sleeper
gliding over the peaks of the dreadlands in route to karnors
running with the gators in the underbelly of the old cazic thule
having a beer in Thurgadin
crusing the Plane of Growth before I was kos
fishing at the base of the thundering falls of East Karana
hunting the ghoul messenger in WK
Oddly enough I fondly remember helping about 30 mages get their epics done at one point or another.
getting a dagas from the plane of air
high diving from the eagles nest in lake rathe
cliff diving into the pit of black burrow
swimming under the ice of permafrost
crusing kithicor at night, actually being spooked of the place
charming Leelee

I recognize that its a shallow world.

I recognize that its only as real as a Hollywood western facade,

but sometimes,

for a few timeless moments,

my mind revists and races over that world.

Images flicker by just like a childhood memory of christmas.

My mental scrapbook,
pictures of my past interwoven with pictures of a leathery old half elf in peanut butter plate.

Good times,
Good memories

Here's to the future guys,
I hope to explore new worlds with you, someday.

Yup. Can't agree more. Except my resume isn't that in depth

You got a way with words bud. If there is nothing else that I take from this game, those kind of memories will do just fine.

Kithicor just brings bad memories, I only went to Swamp of No Hope once, and by far the scariest zone was ToV the first time I went. I didn't think i was KoS...i was inviz the entire way through West Wastes, made it just fine. Walked into the first hall in ToV BAM BAM BAM dead :) Ahh them good old memories.

Yeah I miss EQ sometimes, but then I remember that EQ caused more problems than it fixed. I think...

The game had some magic, it sure did, it lost it overtime however. I remember some of my best memories of the actual game was when the game was still pure, when you first started playing the game, when danger lurked around every corner, you flocked to safetly after achieving your first kill of the night. The adventurous group of level 5 (back when there actually were guys just starting the game), setting out to explore. After the magic the game provided ended, for me, the magic lied in the social atmosphere, when I first started to realize that Verant only provided a skeleton, and the personalities of people gave EQ its form. The long, detailed, and intellectual conversations I've had in this game, covering everything from politics, personality, leadership, human nature, its all priceless. Its funny how shallow people in the world can be, friends of mine will be like "you pay 10 bucks a month to play a game? do you shoot people?" And after explaining the atmosphere of the game, the first reply I receive is "what a waste of money"... EQ is great because of the people...
