Jane Galt points out that apparently all government sites have to have a kids section. Some of the interesting/amusing ones
Yucca Mountain (nuclear waste storage site)

Social Security
http://www.ssa.gov/kids/kids.htm
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms
http://www.atf.gov/kids/index.htm
NSA for kids
http://www.nsa.gov/kids/intro.htm
Center for Disease Control
http://www.cdc.gov/global/kids.htm
(complete with a section with disease trading cards! http://www.cdc.gov/global/cards.htm)
And one that is no longer on the government sites but still available through a web archive is the Simplified Tax and Wage Reporting System .. for kids. Which shows how much fun it would be to fill out tax forms for you lemonade stand.

P.S. Yes I realize that there actually is some decent information at some of these pages, but its still kind of amusing.

I took a tour of the future Yucca mountain nuclear waste site right after taking a special tour of the Nevada Nuclear Test site. During the nuclear test site visit, we had to wear special radiation badges and were able to walk around the blasted out buildings and twisted metal of the original atomic tests. Although mostly what I saw was huge blasted out pits, it was an interesting tour that many don't get to see. I had to take their word for it that the sites were safe. The Yucca mountain tour was boring. We went about a mile into the mountain and some guy talked about how safe the site was due to lack of water seepage and water table levels etc.
I don't feel radioactive! Groom Lake (Area 51) was just over another ridge but there were no aliens or flying saucers to be seen.
