Cynic. I have some faith that the sophisticated system of government set out by the Founding Fathers cannot be so easily unraveled by one overly authoritarian president.

I would argue that it is the Vice President who is the "authoritarian" influence.

PRobably one of the main goals of Cheney coming into office was to expand the powers of the Executive Branch. I am fairly sure that conservatives would not argue that point.

I fucking hate Cheney, I hope that paranoid piece of shit kicks off soon. The last time he was in AZ he landed at Falcon Field... they blocked off traffic for like 4 blocks (exaggeration south of the airport and 2 blocks north (there are only 2 blocks north of the airport, and the home of the apache helicopter!)
4 blocks might not sound like much, but the way the streets are grided out here thats like, 82342 miles.. for those of you that live here it was blocked off to like university.. I had to fucking sit around for 2 hours until they unblocked the streets that the fuck wasn't even using so I could drive the 300 feet to get to my house. You'd really have to be familiar with the layout of the area to understand how audacious it is I guess. They didn't even block shit off when W was here afaik.
