Gratz on getting your wish you arrogant prick. I hope you get your wish and become the next Tracy McGrady, a great player on a crappy team. OH COOL KOBE GOT 40 points and he only lost by 30!!!!

See how life will be without a center.

Good luck to the rest of the team, apparently the Lakers feel Kobe is not going to jail.

Sorry this one pissed me off.

Lets see...

Shaq wants trade
T-Mac wants trade
Kobe is a free agent

There's some bigtime names out there. I'd take Shaq in Phoenix over Kobe! Shaq's too expensive though.

From ESPN:
Buss apparently will stop at nothing to keep Kobe off the open market, and I've been told that means he will offer Bryant partial ownership down the road. In the short term, he'll at least offer Kobe a quasi-general manager job, meaning Kobe can help pick the new coach, and, ostensibly, Shaq's replacement.
What a psycho owner.

Further into the article about Shaq:
And Orlando is the only place that makes sense. Orlando is the place that has the first overall pick to dangle, and a ton of other No. 1 picks to add to the package. Orlando is the place that has huge contracts to send back to make the deal work, like Grant Hill's and Juwan Howard's. Orlando is the place Shaq still owns a home, and if Shaq comes, trust me, Tracy McGrady will rescind his trade request. This is the trade that Shaq wants.
For trades, Phoenix has no hope. They have the cap room for free agents but no big dollar players to trade anymore.

Another ESPN article about T-Mac:
In order to avoid losing McGrady without compensation, the Magic are expected to explore trade options. McGrady, who has led the NBA in scoring the past two seasons, should draw heavy interest.

Magic spokesman Joel Glass declined comment on the reports. McGrady didn't answer phone calls, and someone who answered the intercom at his gated home said he wasn't there Friday night. His agent, Arn Tellem, didn't return a call from The Associated Press.

The Sentinel cited the Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns as potential suitors. One source told the paper that the Magic have asked the Pacers for as many as four players -- Ron Artest, Jonathan Bender, Al Harrington and Jamaal Tinsley -- in return.
Shaq going to Orlando and T Mac staying there makes some sense. The Draft is Wednesday so things should heat up quickly.

Yeah, I am not happy with Kobe at all...

There was no reason to completely break up this team. Shaq has his problems, but letting Kobe run the show is fucking retarded.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

I don't blame Kobe entirely...I think Buss allowing it all to take place is probably where the problems lie. Sure the players can opt to do what they will. Sure people/coaches can retire. The owner, especially Buss, who takes an interest in how his team does in the future SHOULD have stepped in a couple years ago, but it's too late to stop the dissolution now.

Here's someone talking about what the Orlando GM likes for T-MAC trades:
He liked the deals in this order:

1.Indiana-Artest, Harrington and Tinsley

2.Houston-Francis, Mobley and Cato

3.Phoenix-Marion, Lampe and #7 pick

He said that he would like the Phoenix deal the best if we were to get Johnson instead of Lampe. As for the draft he said we should take Okafor because we will know what we are exactly getting and that defense is the first priority this off season.
Not bad...Marion and Joe Johnson + 7th pick would be a lot to give up but it all depends on what free agent Phoenix has coming in with all the cap money they have. I think the PHX higher ups like Joe Johnson too much unless we had a really high calibre shooting guard targeted through free agency.

That Orlando GM is ridiculous

Especially #1 and #2 on his list, there is no way in hell TMAC is worth the combos of Harrington, Artest, and Tinsley and especially not worth Cato, Francis, and Mobley. I want 50 of whatever designer drug that guy is taking. Why would any team rape their franchise like that for one player who can score 30ppg but needs the ball in their hands 75% of the time to do it (unless its Shaquille O'Neal)? TMac plays shit defense compared to Artest or Francis and they can both deliver a solid 20ppg.

I like Francis but he has a bit of maturing left to do. Not stable enough at the very high-end level. Love his game when he has a good day though.

Bah, Billionaire Mark Cuban may be able to pull this off. From USA Today:
Apparently, it was no coincidence that on the same day sources claimed McGrady has no plans of returning to the Magic and wants to be traded that O'Neal also told reporters that he wants out of Los Angeles. McGrady and O'Neal are part-time neighbors in suburban Orlando and friends to the point that McGrady often refers to Shaq as "my big brother." Now, the two have discussed in depth a plan that would unite them in Dallas while playing for owner Mark Cuban.

"We talk all the time about it," McGrady told Florida Today on Saturday. "Me and the Big Fella are trying to get to Dallas together now."
After reading up on all the possible trades, I have no clue what will happen. I know Marrion can't be traded until July 1st so any quick trades before the draft won't involve the Suns.

What a mess. It should be interesting what finally happens.

That would change the entire Dallas lineup just in what they would have to give in trades...I don't know if Cuban would be that aggressive in pursuing them both...at least not in one year.

Dunno what your source is, but ESPN and Fox Sports are both reporting the proposed Houston/Orlando trade as Francis, Mobley, and Cato for McGrady, Howard, Gaines, and Lue... That seems pretty balanced to me and I'm sure the other trades are similar. T-Mac is easily a top 5 player, arguably the best, any team that gets him is likely to be getting the better end of the deal. Just hope he gets on a good team, since he's the type to give up on a bad one (as seen the previous season).

Personally, if I were Houston, I'd shoot for the Francis/T-Mac straight up trade. I sure as hell wouldn't want Juwan Howard on my team!

P.S. Winnow - T-Mac is a shooting guard. Phoenix should be more concerned about what they'd do at the SF position with Marion out...

After the draft, I have an even stronger feeling that Kobe is on his way to Phoenix. Phoenix is still in the running for T-Mac as well but that's completely uncertain at this point.

Kobe could play PG while T-Mac took the SG position. T-Mac is also pass happy even though he lead the league in scoring.

While a Kobe/T-Mac combo doesn't make perfect sense, it's completely possible with the Suns current salary cap and tradable players. Kobe will cost the Suns zero players. You simply sign him for the max from the 16+ million the Suns have cleared under the cap with deal after deal this past year...if he chooses to come. The Lakers can offer much more but I don't think it matters. T-Mac would come over for Marion and Joe Johnson.

Personally, I'd like to see Kobe sign and keep Marion as our SF. We have a PG coming in from Serbia, Milos Vujanic, that we drafted last year. I don't think there's a need to make a major trade if we sign Kobe. We do need a center though!

Francis willing to join Magic

Orlando Sentinel

It looks like GM John Weisbrod has sold Steve Francis on the Magic. The Sentinel's Tim Povtak reports that Francis "has dropped any objections to coming to Orlando".
If T-Mac is still insisting on Houston, this would seem to have sealed the deal.

LOL there are not enough basketballs in the league for those 2 to be in the same backcourt.

Kobe would dribble up, take a 35 foot shot, or try and dribble through the whole team for a shot, then T-Mac would hope to get a rebound and shoot that up. No One else on the team would ever see the basketball unless they rebounded it.

Remember Paul Westhead from Loyola Marymount? That may be our next coach! 140 points a game. Kobe and T-Mac would have the green light to fire up shots as soon as they crossed half court. Amare will get the rebounds!

The Suns proved this year that having a big center isn't necessary although that will be tested tonight against Shaq and the Heat. We beat them earlier this year with both teams at full strength. It would be nice to sweep the season series.

I like watching games where the players have respect for each other like Amare and Shaq. I think Amare has handled himself well for the most part throughout this season and only got into a few small tussles. Shaq, being Amare's idol growing up is positive as Shaq is the king of taking hard fouls and walking away without getting T's.

I give the Suns management all the credit for not going for T-Mac or Kobe and giving Suns fans an excellent team this year with a great chance to keep a solid core of players around for the next few years with no head cases.
