Where do you fall on the liberal - conservative spectrum

Post by Kylere »

EEK, nah I am much more moderate than liberal. I think it is influenced by the fact that I am pro individual rights. Be warned by the way the cut and paste code they use does not work here properly.

Damn, 7 questions to a true understanding of one's political view! Perfect!

As far as my score... it was ------> way mostly, although I am not as conservative as most Reps. :P

I agree it leaves much to be desired and is in fact a little slanted left by the tone of the questions, but it does cover 7 of the big issues.

Some of these questions didn't even have reasonable answers. The test itself was a little biased; I sensed a certain distaste for liberal responses in the phrasing of some of the options.

In any event, the results were reasonably accurate.

I's really like to see a test that utilizes questions like loose or srict interpretation of the constitution... states rights versus federal rights... federal intervention or monitoring in the daily affairs of citizens, etc. In my mind, that would make for a much better gauge of political alignment than abortion, racial profiling or the death penalty.

slightly liberal, but the question responses left a lot to be desired
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. Strange... Only one question different betten Conservative and Liberal. I would have thought changing that would have made me moderate but, heh, guess not, so...

I answered all the questions like Midnyte would and this is the result I got:

Image
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Well it is the simplest tool for the job, and I didn't feel compelled to put more effort into it when it would fall on mostly deaf ears, anyhow, Cano.

Actually, funny story, the first photo editing program I ever got did get me into hot water. Some edit jobs I did back in high school damn near landed me detention (I made some unflattering posters of our superintendant over some crap that was going on with school funding) but I managed to bullshit my way out of trouble on the basis that the posters were posted outside school grounds and were done without school property. My predilection for pissing people off had very early roots, hehe.
