first time i am disgusted by the total pussiness of you people.

While I'm sure you wouldn't mind going down in a blaze of glory protesting the violation of your free speech rights, some people would rather keep their jobs. Start mass e-mailing employers and the president if you really want to make a difference. Maybe next year he'll include this very important issue in his State of the Union along with the next country we're going to invade. Where did you say you were from again?

I don't know how it is in European work environments. Really, I don't. But in the US, companies can be sued by employees who feel like they're being sexually harassed because 50 yards away, in another department, on a co-workers monitor, they think they might have scene something that offended them. As many different personalities as we have here on this board, we have in the US, and people here are fucked up assholes who think of themselves first, and think they can and should be able to sue whom ever they want, whenever they want. Because of this, companies in the US, where people who are uptight and stupid are allowed to have an opinion, have to protect themselves. Now, depending upon where you are in your environment, enforcement, acceptability, and sensitivity can vary greatly. But don't give me this bullshit about you're being opressed or you don't understand. That's the way it is over here, and that's why the moderators are trying to put in some limits. So people can have fun with the site the way it's intended.

If you don't like it, or don't understand, delete the fucking link and don't come back.

Built in? No, we don't have that ability. Would it be possible to add that ability? Yes. However, it would take some time, and in the background we're working on more sweeping changes to the site, as well as all having jobs and enjoying free time as it comes. When someone suggests something, we do our best to help out. Please cut us some slack, it's really not that big a deal.

It's like inviting a bunch of people over for dinner, and a couple of them have a peanut allergy. Do you just say "oh, i don't care if it might adversely affect you, i love me some peanuts." Or are you perhaps a little more courteous and say "gosh, by me abstaining from something that won't hurt me if i go without, i can spare someone else a lot of pain."

Yeah, what's considered inappropriate by corporate America might be on the ridiculous side, but complaining about that doesn't solve the board's problem. None of us here have any control over those rules.

Whether or not people are supposed to be looking at VV while they're working isn't relevant, either. VV would suck if all the people who post to it while they're at work stopped. So telling all those people to "just stop coming to the site" isn't a solution to the problem.

I will probably frequent the board more often from work now than I used to. Since my Avatar is a picture of Rianna holding "nutbutter" in front of his... well nuts, I think it is safe to say the avatars didn't offend me personally. However, if my boss happened by my desk when one of your half naked women were bouncing around or grabbing their boobs I'd get reprimanded and possibly loose my job.

Anyone who visits this board regularly wouldn't be offended by the avatars we have seen, or they wouldn't be here. I personally could care less about you self-centered idiots who can't see outside of your own little world long enough to comprehend that folks are not personally offended, they just don't want it to effect their jobs. I am not offended by any of the avatars at all.....including the one Fesuni used a while back that I asked to be removed. I read the site regularly from work. Anything that would even remotely be construed as pornography would get me fired. Other than that, they would not really say much about reading a messageboard during downtime. Cid's was borderline, but some of the others were really going past good taste for this forum.

I sure as hell have nothing against porn or naked women at all....and I frequent the NWS forum as much as anyone (except for probably Fairweather). That is the reason we have a forum listed as NWS isn't it? I have yet to see Xou or Pyrella or the Michigan fag Slyvus censoring any type of text or speech in any forum on this entire site. They also do all of this work for free. If you have problems with toning down a bit on something as silly as avatars in the non-NWS forums, then I will link you to some boards you can frequent in the place of this one.

Whoa. First off, since it seems my original post is the one that opened this can of worms, let me assure those of you who are convinced of my church lady attitude that I was never offended by a single one of those avatars. I would agree that a natural female body is a beautiful thing and I enjoy looking at one as much as anyone. However, I don't set the policies at work but I do have to abide by them. I get a lot of enjoyment from coming here and reading on lunch, during breaks, before work (omgz look at the post time, I start work at 8:30!!!1!1) and quite frankly, if I were limited to reading VV from home, I wouldn't.

I didn't whine about any avatar in particular. I considered sending my complaint in the form of a PM to Xou, but I decided to be a woman about it and address my concerns where you all could read what was on my mind. And it seems that a lot of folks were in the same boat as me. So all you fucks that still think the world is only black and white can go to class and kiss my ass.
