Pal, if you can't see the difference in an insult directed at the individual and one that says a father (which I am of 3 girls) is fucking his daughter up the ass, then there is nothing more I need to say to you. There are many women who have been sexually abused, raped etc around the globe and I imagine based on the latest statistics that some even read these boards. As many of us attack people on a base level there is a line I will not cross and I will gladly call an asshole out for crossing that particular line.

Why the hell is it any different? By you using phrases like "overused cunt" and "slut," you are attacking a section of a persons private life, namely, her sexual morals. By someone saying that you get your daughters up the ass, they are attacking a section of your private life, namely, your parenting skills.

I'm not going to make a judgement call on which is more offensive, but they both do generally the same thing.

I didn't say I know for a fact. But using common sense I am pretty sure that the fucking office in CHINA has a reasonable level of autonomy. The fact that this robot was released with the bhuddist swastika decals is fairly decent evidence of the my hypothesis. To think that every single coca-cola marketing department in every country in the world has to run every marketing gimmick by the head office in Atlanta is utterly fucking preposterous.

Given that the mirror to the swastica is both a buhdist symbol and an egyption symbol for good fortune, I am suprised something like this hasnt happened sooner.

I realize I'm joining this thread a bit late, but some of you (Atokal, Metanis, et al) need to study up a bit on Occam's Razor. A simple definition can be found here or you can feel free to delve deeper here. I have no doubt that none of the brain trust (that's sarcasm, boys!) will actually click on or understand what I'm getting at, but I'll try my darnedest.

The law of parsimony, as it applies to this situation, basically says that when choosing between two arguments, the most simple one is probably the correct one. Atokal keeps asking for proof of an opposing viewpoint to his own, which no one can provide. For the moment we'll disregard the fact that his point has no proof either and we'll move on to compare the two sides. We know that a symbol that some have confused for a Nazi Swastika was placed on some figurines that were made as a promotion for Coca-Cola, and that said figurine was a FUCKING REPLICA of a popular character in China. What could be the reason for this?

1) The Chinese (or Eastern) division of Coca-Cola has some degree of autonomy from the Western, world HQ. They produced a promotional piece - based on a popular character which happens to contain a figure that has some religious significance in the region - in order to sell more of their product. No one in Atlanta was the wiser until this news item broke.

Look at the both of those for a minute and think about which makes more sense. I'd wager that you'd probably pick the first one, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong when betting on stupid. Yes, I exaggerated the second one a tiny bit (we all know that Nabisco Foods actually has Hitler's brain in a jar) to illustrate my point. Whether they know it or not, people use Occam's Razor every day when making common sense decisions. Apparently you use it to cut up lines of cocaine or meth or whatever you're snorting if you think that you've ever made a reasonable, well thought out argument.
