YES SHE CAN!

Despite the canned responses from the left, Palin did a great job reinvigorating the Republican ticket.

That's the first time I heard her speak. She got the job done.

Her husband races snow machines or something!

Obama's response: "present!"

Canned response? I guess so as I was just parroting what the 'right' said about Obama's speech. Haha see what I did there??

The debates should be interesting.

The republicans strategists are magnitudes better than their democrat counterparts. Reflect on how much coverage was given to her pregnancy and daughter. That's all forgotten and was actually used to grab a portion of the female vote IMO. Well done!

The references to the decision making required in the position of Mayer and Governor plays well against the lack of experience Obama has when he's not voting "present".

The next battleground will be the debates and it's looking like McCain/Palin have an advantage over um, Obama/Biden. Biden can drone on and on about his voting history I suppose but Palin will counter well with her actual history of making actual decisions beyond voting, which the President must do.

Good times ahead. I see a momentum swing back to the republicans.

Bottom line is that half the country votes with their eyes. I already covered that Palin can appeal to half the population (women) while Obama can appeal to only a part of the minority vote.

Hispanic vote is still the key player that hasn't been determined.

I will agree that republican sheep herders know how to herd sheep well, and know how to steal the show, but you are simply wrong about the amount of votes this woman will bring for this campaign. There will be some, but not enough to defeat the advantage Obama has over McCain. Tabloid stories go away after a week, and then the McCain campaign will once again be the McCain campaign.

I would like to mouthfuck Sarah Palin until her teeth fell out, but there's no way I'm voting for her crazy fundie ass.

I was willing to giver her the benefit of the doubt when she was announced. The more I hear and see, the more I'm convinced that she is a fucking nutjob. She's like Ann Coulter except with tact and without the horse face. Not only do I dislike her, I'm freaked out by her.

I can honestly say that if McCain managed a win, I don't think it would've been too bad. I mean, he's not Dubya. (I hope there will never be another Dubya) But with this Palin choice, I'm officially a little freaked out. I kind of get a mental flutter when I imagine her having anything to do with stearing the direction of this country. I look at her and see the very worst stereotype one could come up with, in the flesh. I would feel the same way if Obama chose a "Micheal Moore" as his VP. We cannot have such polorized figures running this country.

I still believe Obama has this election in the bag though. However, I refuse to be one of those people that is in a state of shock when they realize their candidate has lost on election night. I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Palin is the worst. Not McCain, but Palin. (McCain is next to worse)

Oh chill out people. Palin isn't that bad. Talk about dramaqueens...

I'm leaving the country! (hello Baldwins)

"She's the worst!" No she's not. It's was clear to me that Rudy Giuliani is the true nutjob.

Ignore the abortion/pro choice crap. Nothing ever comes of that. It's a non issue. NOTHING is going to change.

Obama scares me. That guy has a lot of people totally duped. And why so much hoopla over a VP? (nm, I know why...because the republican campaign managers know exactly what they're doing while the democrats strategy team is being bullied by Obama's one man show) Obama chose the most boring VP that would fade into the background because he thinks he can do it all himself. He's out of control.

What a bunch of sad, ignorant, shallow little retards you are. Anyone who can't take the simple, logical examples that have been given to you mostly in the form of one liners during Palin's speech last night (she can speak better than Obama, for one) is so deluded you can't see basic fundamental reality - and that's pathetic.

I hope you do all think she's crazy, I hope you hate her with every ounce of your being. That will just make it that much better when they send your nominee packing and you all bitch about how stupid everyone but you is.

You wonder why I don't debate issues and take the time to itemize things to you morons  If you actually believe the bullshit that is spoonfed to you (which you obviously do), you aren't even worth conversing with.

Because you are clearly incapable of having a coherent debate.
You don't itemize(?) or link any evidence to corroborate your arguments because it usually doesn't even exist.

Hardy har buddy. Like I said, I think I feel a lot like nick does (well, the polar opposite, but I'm getting to my point) in the respect that the truth is there, it's been plainly spelled out for those who want to listen to it, and many people here choose not only to ignore it, but to bash it. These people are ignorant on such a grand scale that it's not even worth my time.

And if my choice of words was off, it's because the droves of ignorant people here make me so goddamn irritated.

I think I'm gonna get a NOBAMA yard sign and put it up in the back windshield of my car.

I thought she made a good speech, not changing my mind or anything about voting for Obama, but it was well done. It attacked Obama on some good points. I was watching it last night and trying to guess which person on here would be the first to come on and rail against her. She wasn't trying to change the hardcore Obama supporters, she was working on the undecided and fringe Republican vote and I think she accomplished something in those groups last night. If you can't at least admit she did a decent job then you truely have drank from the Obama Kool-Aide. It would not mean that you have to vote for her, just give her a little credit.

As for left wing news sources (and also right wing). Whichever jackass new source claimed the downs syndrome kid was really her daughters should have any credentials they might have pulled. That was blatant bullshit and was the kind of crap I was talking about in earlier posts. I have no problem if they find out weird shit about Obama or Palin, but you should not be able to make stories up and not have some sort of penalty. I am not talking about major punative damages, but take away his credentials to that event. It was just as bad as the Obama bin Laden crap Fox pulled and yes I think Fox should have had their hand slapped for that.

That's why I love watching John Stewart. There has been a fundamental shift in News today. It is easier to make news and become news, then to report it. The Daily Show shines a bright light on the lies and hypocrisy of those people. The Election coverage has been amazing.

I watched the first 1.5 minutes, it's all I could stomach. John Stewart is a ignorant, arrogant, obnoxious prick and to be honest has no business even being on television..

As far as I got in the video - he was trying to point out hypocrisy in what Rove said.. Although there was no hypocrisy, he was speaking on experience as a mayor, Palin is now governor.

Seriously, find something better to do. There are a million things about Obama that are laughable and pathetic beyond anything you could dig up on Palin.

I just think that line was really stupid. Jon Stewart is a comedian, on a comedy show (about politics), on a comedy station. He has no business being on television? He draw a huge number of viewers to Comedy Central, what do you think defines having business being on television? Ignorant? He is probably more informed than you on about every political issue, simply because of his role, but what makes you call him ignorant? Arrogant? Suppose sometimes, but it's more than likely for the laugh, similar to the Arrogant character Stephen Colbert played on the Daily Show, and now the Colbert Report, but again, what makes you say he's arrogant?

I think you might be confusing the Daily Show with an actual news reporting outlet, instead of a comedy show.

His show might be a little funnier to me if he didn't make it so damn obvious that he is pissed off about a lot of the stuff he touches on.. There's no place for that in his field of entertainment, imo. Report the news, make a wisecrack here and there, but leave it at that..

One of the reasons people like his show so much is because he does care about what he is talking about. Also, he is scripted to play the liberal support on the show, while the other reporters on the show are scripted to play the conservative support.

As far as there being no place for that in the field of entertainment? what? seems like he's found a market for it, but maybe you think his popularity and viewer numbers are a ploy by liberals.

What do you think about other talk show hosts that let their political stances be shown on television?

And your point my stand, but only because your point is your opinion on how Jon Stewart should act on his show. Many people disagree with you, and their point stands too.

It's comedy, man....
It's not news.
He's not a fucking reporter.
It is comedy based on the stupid shit that politicians do and say.

Even the politicians he makes fun of love his show.
Some of the biggest and most influential republicans have been guests on his show.

Funk's responses remind me of what Tucker Carlson was saying about Jon Stewart when Jon Stewart came on crossfire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFQFB5YpDZE

Or maybe I just wanted to link the video.

On the very episode I linked to, Newt Gingrich came out right after that clip as his guest and made reference to the clip.

No sound card at work, so I will have to wait till i get home to watch it. I just started getting comedy central again, so I will start watching the Daily Show again probably (though it sucks that i don't pay $40 a month for every HD channel dishnetwork has anymore)

He's not reporting news as the primary function of his show.
My point still stands.

Right, if you think it's cool that the guy hits on topics and gets mad about them while trying to pawn it off as comedy, be my guest. I personally think that's kinda pathetic on both parts.

This is one of those times that Funk still manages to surprise me with his monumental stupidity.
