Syenye wrote:seriously though, i can't recall seeing a movie that i thought so highly of in a long time. the casting was really well done, and everything was well acted. the characters were likable. the dialogue was realistic. julianne moore wasn't annoying. the ending didn't make me want to punch anyone in the face. nobody was flung three feet against a wall when shot.

i heard people in the theater complaining that it didn't have an ending and that it was horrible, but these people also thought the justin timberlake movie looked good.
The ending made me want to punch someone in the face. I wasn't ready for it to end there even though the film set it up from early on. I loved the camera work. The single-shot scenes were awesome. It stood out so much that at one point, my girlfriend was asking where the blood on the camera went once they switched to a second shot.

Just saw it a few weeks ago myself (and yes, i got a copy, and yes, im gonna buy the DVD :)). I would say its the best sci-fi movie i have seen in years (even though the setting isnt traditional scifi, could be us in 20 years).
Most definitely worth seeing.

-buys 1 movie a year, leeches none

-buys 100 movies a year, leeches 1000

Which one does the movie industry like the best?
They like #1 a lot better, primarily because they haven't realized their market has changed without them.

Just saw this! LOVED it. Agree with Syenye that it's been awhile since I've seen a movie that has impressed me so much. The last time I was so mesmerized by film was when I saw Fellini's 8 1/2. Totally dissimilar film, but I had the same "OMG this movie is wow" feeling while watching it. Very intense film that I need in my permanent collection!!!

And yes, Julianne Moore's character does lose a child, lol.
