There is only one Lance Armstrong, and I am sure as hell not him. I can however, hold my own with the Cat 2 and 3 racing crowd here in So Cal.

Cyclists do not, and have never shaved their legs to shave time in fact, it has nothing to do with aerodynamics at all.

Cyclists, shave their legs for two reasons:

1. In case you crash, dressing and redressing road rash is a lot less painful and problematic.

Perhaps more importantly:
2. In order to promote recovery, leg massages are extremely helpful for flushing lactic acid, and stimulating bloodflow to muscle that is repairing itself. Leg massages on legs with hair are sometimes painful and problematic so better to do it on bare legs.

Like I should give a damn about bicycling enough to care why the guys that do it shave their legs. I think it is great people find an outlet in a hobby that they can go an entire lifetime without ever outgrowing it. But for some weekend wannabe to shave his legs is sad and pathetic, it is like some riceboy with a powered by honda sticker who cuts holes in the spare tire rim to get "less weight" it is sad.

If you do it to avoid road rash it is still sad.

You do understand that I compete regularly, right? It might also interest you to know that, largely due to the weather, California has one of the most competitive cycling communities in the nation...

This is the useless daily blog thread not the PK-IRL thread!

Last night a friend and I started the night off bowling before hitting the bars. Grand total for a few games and pitchers of beer: $97.00.

I guess movies aren't that expensive afterall. A family with more than a couple kids would have to sign a second mortgage for a night out bowling. Bowl for a few hours or buy 6 or 7 DVDs.
