Congrats to London on 2012 Olympics; have some terrorism?

What do you think about the world?

If it was that simple, you would be seeing Iraqi people retaliating against those people of non-Iraqi or even Iraqi nationality who have been using suicide bombing that kills more Iraqi civilians than coalition troops.
As opposed to the US bombs killing more Iraqi civilians than insurgents?
And like I said, how does one differentiate between innocent, civilian arabs (or if you like, Muslims) and those with ties to terrorist organizations?

I'm not siding with the terrorists, I'm just keeping an open mind and trying to understand both sides.
This isn't as cut and dry as good vs evil...

Brits are weird people. And way more battletested in the form of terror than the US or any other European country. They are way hardier than a lot of people give them credit for.
I wouldn't say weird... thier resolve is pretty admirable.
They are a good lot and have faced a lot of challenges in thier history.
For certain these attacks won't have the same impact as the attacks on the US.
Even the ones that came out of the Underground breathing in smoke in a claustrophobic and helpless environment didn’t seem to pay much mind.
No kidding. It seemed most of them would have been more upset if thier favorite pub had been bombed. :)

Your statement, while true, does not reflect the reality of how people think. When Americans think "Muslim" or "Islam", they think of the MidEast. The truth of the political situation is that shit like this just makes it easier for politicians to point a finger and shovel blame on "those Godless A-rabs."

Disappointed in this thread as well.

Don't have much to add other than to express my sadness and anger over the attack.

The Brits do not play, hell they hunt down the IRA like rabid animals and they are homeboys by comparison.

Ask Argentina what the Brits do when you piss them off, I love it, it is such a pathetic move on the part of these terrorists to do it during G8 and to attack the single closest ally of the US, who had prior to this started to show wavering support. Only a coward and a fool would strengthen their resolve, while at the same time irking wussy France along with the rest of the major remaining powers. If the US could pull something off like this as a covert op without being caught I would suspect that this had been engineered by the administration because it plays into the current US foreign and domestic policy so perfectly.

The thing is, whether you're disappointed in the thread or not, is that several innocent people died today.

The thing that makes this such a huge issue is that they are "our" side.
I have to admit it made me hate the terrorists so much I wanted to go out and find those fucks right there and then.

However.

The fact of the matter is, with the way the last few years have gone, and the attitude of the UK government under Blair, we were asking for this.

No one in Britain is as surprised today as they were after 9/11, it was always a matter of when, not if.

We understand that this is what happens if you do what we have done in Iraq, and places like Guantanamo.

You do not lessen the terror, you provoke it, you taunt it and this is the price we pay.

It is a sad day, although no doubt the lessons will not be learnt. Apart from those who care enough to see this stop.

Btw, I am not pro-terrorist, I think they are a cowardly pack of fucking scumbags.
The question does however remain, are they any less cowardly than our own governments, who waive their legitimatacy around as it it nullifies the impact of the deaths of the thousands upon thousands of Arabs in Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan these last few years.

The question we want to ask ourselves is, is it really any more of a tragedy than what we ourselves have supported, either through acitvity or apathy?

A sad day, and my heart goes out to those who have lost, and those that died, a terrible terrifying way to die.

I am glad my friends in London are ok. For that I am grateful.

Some of the comments here are a real insult to humanity. I mean that. Ignore it all you want, you would anyway.

The blood isn't even try before the neotards start politicizing tragedy. This, folks, is what happens when your primary source of news is Bill O'Reilly and Micheal Savage.
