Yeah very easy to just say "I would be fine with it", but since I have dated outside of my race I honestly think I would be.. hard to say though without actually being a parent myself yet. I don't know, if I enjoy a person's company I will disregard a lot of differences and not really care if the person is rich or poor, well educated or not, old or young, male or female etc. But again, I guess that is the PC answer.

I did not doubt anyone, I just honestly dont expect anything other than those answers.

There is no grand reason why I mentioned education other than to silence the people that may say "I would want my daughter to bring home someone who has goals in life or a good education". No consipracy, take that line out if you wish, I don't care. It's just a question that you ask yourself after all. Edit it however you wish.

A more productive question would have been, "what do you plan to do to raise your children as free from racism and religious influences as possible?"

I freely admit I would not be too happy if my daughter brought home an Indian dude. I'm workin on that though. I guess it's more economics than anything, before this outsourcing bullshit I considered Indians just like I did anyone else.

I am honestly 0% racist. Sure i judge people on there apperance, how they treat there bodys, how they present themselves or how they carry themselves, but all that is aside from race.

Indian dude is just trying to make a buck like everyone else. Don't be mad at Indian dude. Indian dude probably works twice as hard as the person he's replacing and it's not his fault that the opportunity is there for him to take a job.

The liberals can pick it up from here and bash Bush about why Indian dude is taking away someones job here in the U.S.

Ultimately it's probably your fault as much as anyone elses in the U.S. for why we are outsourcing.

Americans are resource hogs, expect high pay for half assed work, and want lots of vacations and sick days. Something's got to give. Who's up for working harder for less pay and paying higher prices to keep jobs in the U.S.? Company executives want too much of the pie which is also part of the problem.

Anyway, my uncle is about to lose his job to someone in India. He is currently training the person in India that's going to replace him. He makes a little over 100K/year. I wonder what Indian dude will be making.

Besides being my favorite short essay, The Conscience of a Hacker/Hacker's Manifesto has all sorts of references to discrimination with the main one being:

We explore... and you call us criminals.
We seek after knowledge... and you call us criminals.

You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the criminals.

Best...essay... ever! It's honest, blunt, and provides an eye opening perspective on what they thought was just a juvenile delinquent out to do damage.

It's a powerful example of the positives the internet and computers can have on eliminating discrimination by "judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like." It even hits on the shortcomings of our education system.

If nothing else, you should glean out of the essay that flaming what people say and think is more powerful and scarring than flaming their looks, religion or nationality!

What somebody said earlier I completely agree with. I am way more likely to judge someone on what they say/how they behave than their race. And I must admit I can judge that harshly at times. So I know I have my flaws and am intolerant about some things, but I don't think race is one of them..
