no, it's overall offense and defense, there are also lists for individual categories like passing, rushing, etc if you follow the link.

Yes those are combined passing/rushing yards allowed or gained depending.

And to say OSU is 40th and that is bad is misleading. 40th is 415 yd/pg

by "overall" you mean points then? because "overall" defensive rankings are usually yds/game.

also in the interests of making myself look like less of a moron, i don't believe you initially provided that link in that post. maybe i'm wrong.

and i just looked at the link... the list titled 'total defense,' which lists arizona state 14th, is ranked by yds/game...

fuck winnow, you should have used points per game, arizona state is 4th there

note of course that your stats will be padded by your joke of a schedule. yes, ohio states will be similarly padded.

Here's a good article on ESPN's front page about the remaining undefeated teams:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/ ... ortCat=ncf

final paragraph of each:

Electability: The Buckeyes probably just need to win out to stay on top, but that doesn't mean America would relish the sight of another sketchy Big Ten champ back in a game where it was humiliated last season.

Electability: Boston College doesn't have the name cachet of Ohio State with the voters, but it does currently hold down the top spot in the BCS computer composite and the No. 2 overall spot. The Eagles could be six wins away from New Orleans.

Electability: The Sun Devils are playing a bit from behind at No. 4 in the BCS standings, but wins over Cal, Oregon and USC would be a huge boost to their strength of schedule. None of the other unbeatens has a tougher run the rest of the way.

Electability: At No. 9 in the BCS, Kansas will need some help in front of it. But it also has a user-friendly schedule that could keep the Jayhawks unbeaten a while longer while those ahead of them fall.

Electability: (Hawaii) About as viable as Dennis Kucinich.

The article goes on to cover some of the teams with one loss that are still in the race.

Although I love to win as much as the next guy. But if you really have a sense of family with the college, you care a lot more than just wins/loses and the football team. I'm glad to say most of my mothers side of the family went to PSU, and although I never went, I wish I could have!

On that note:The Penn State football team has the second-highest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) among teams ranked in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, according to data recently released by the NCAA.
* According to the "2006 NCAA Division I Graduation Rates Report," Penn State's 83 percent football graduation rate was third highest in the nation among all Division I-A public institutions and 2006-07 bowl teams. The Nittany Lions had the seventh-highest graduation rate overall among all of the nation's 119 Division I-A programs, including the best among Big Ten Conference institutions.

The Penn State football team's graduation rate of 83 percent for students entering in 1999 was 28 points higher than the national average of 55 percent.

* Among African-American football student-athletes entering in 1999-2000, the Nittany Lions posted a graduation figure of 71 percent to significantly exceed the 49 percent national average. Penn State's four-year graduation rate for African-American players was 72 percent, 23 points higher than the national average.

Student-athletes from 21 of Penn State's 25 teams earned a GSR at or above 80 percent according to the latest NCAA data. Ten Penn State squads earned a Graduation Success Rate of 100 percent. (Track and field and cross country are counted as one sport).

And to round it out If FSU loses to duke, and seeing how things are going lately there and JoePa being only 1 game back from BB...

Coincidentally, on Oct 27th, 2001, JoePa broke Bryant's record by winning his 324th against Ohio State at home.

We play Ohio State at home on Oct 27th, 2007

Anyone else watching BC get its ass handed to it by the Hokies?

They can come back, but they haven't been in control all game and are down by 2 scores.

Oh come on...this win gives ASU maybe just a little street cred?

Woo!

Cal 20
ASU 31 (24 unanswered points) (8-0, 5-0 Pac-10)

Arizona State Football stats for the 2nd half this year:

Arizona State: 159
Opponents: 29

Monster game coming up next week!

ASU @ Oregon

Will make or break one team's season!

Totally. They were playing pretty well in the first half. Lots of credit to ASU.

Oregon looked nasty today on offense in the first half. Second half, it seemed like SC's defense figured them out and were able to stop them a bit.

Merely a healthy changing of the guard, unlike in the Big Ten (11).

A competitive conference doesn't mean it blows.

Oh, I wasn't talking about ASU or even Oregon. I was talking about the rest of your underachieving, better than the Big Ten, even better than the SEC conference.

You (as a conference) suck.

Wow, this was in the Arizona Republic (newspaper) online site:

Image

I find it hard to believe that won't upset some old geezers or religous nuts.

So what is the rest of the Big Ten achieving besides OhioSU? Michigan appears to be the second team in that conference. That's not saying a lot this year. The Pac-10 can hang with the other conferences, no problem.

What I love is according to all the pundits every game is OSU's biggest game this year.

First it was "OMG on teh road at Washington will be a huge test for OSU."
OSU stomps them.
"Oh nevermind Washington sucks."

Then it was "OMG on the road at Purdue will a huge test for OSU."
OSU handles them easily.
"Oh nevermind that wasn't a big win."

Then it was "OMG the high scoring Michigan State offense will push OSU to their limits."
OSU beat them like a drum even though the final score didn't show it.
"Oh MSU stinks forget about it."

Now it was "Happy Valley on the road at night. OSU is 1-5 in their last six games there. This is the upset for number 1 OSU."
OSU ran over Penn State and the game wasn't even as close as the 37-17 score made it look.

So I am sure today there will be people saying Penn State, with a Defense ranked 7th in the country in total defense and fourth in scoring defense, sucked and it wasn't a real test.

And that's cool, keep telling these Buckeyes how bad they suck and what they don't deserve. It worked great for them in 2002.

Impressive wins for both Ohio State and Arizona State. Arizona State is sure to rise in Sueven's annual rankings!

I'm really looking forward to ASU-Oregon now. Should be a great game.

I would love to see an LSU-Oregon championship game.

Hey, the Bucknuts and Sun Devils actually played and beat real football teams. If they both manage to go undeafeated, I hope they squeeze out BC and face each other in the title game.

BC is not good, and they looked like crap against VT. It took them 28 minutes to figure out how to break a prevent defense. Their schedule is even creamier and puffier than Ohio State's. What a fucking joke the ACC is. The only legit challenge left for BC is UVA in the conf. title game.

p.s. WTB defenders, large and small, no questions asked.

Arizona State @ Oregon will be televised nationally on ESPN/ABC with the ESPN Gameday crew on site. The game starts at 3:30pm which should be 6:30pm EST unless we go through a time change or something.

I hope it's a good game. With ASU #6 and Oregon #5 in the human polls and ASU #4, Oregon #5 in the BCS, whoever ends up winning will be pushing the current top three teams in the polls for their spots. This might be the last high ranking match up of the season with two teams still in the BCS hunt unless there's one in the SEC playoffs.

Yup, this is going to be a fun game! I am more partial to the Ducks than the Beavers, so I will at least watch some every week. Think I will stick around for a good chunk of this one!

As far as PAC-10 vs. SEC, I don't see an argument. The SEC is fucking DEEP most years, whereas the PAC-10 will field 2-4 powerhouses and then a bunch of sallies. Of course, I am biased since I spend more time on SEC shit. :)

Go Ducks! :P
