The Redemption of the Bush Administration

Post by Homercles »

For all those that view the Bush administration as an abject failure, I offer you this. This act alone redeems his entire administration. If you dont agree, then your a bafoon.

Did you read the last paragraph?

" After 2yrs when the Do Not Call list is large, then and only then the Republicans will sell all information to the highest bidder in a attempt to balance the budget. When asked about this Mr. Ashcroft said " who better to buy data from then the US govt?"

I'd be happier if they would do something about the stupid spammers. Of course all the free porn is starting to be nice. Just get rid of the Insurance and mortgage emails. Anyone stupid enough to get a mortgage or insurance over email can call me about a bridge anyday.

A company also may call someone on the no-call list if that person has bought, leased or rented from the company within the past 18 months. Telemarketers also may call people if they have inquired about or applied for something from the company during the past three months.
That last part is pretty much carte blanche for these companies to keep calling whoever they want. I actually got into an argument with a telemarketer a few weeks ago over whether or not I'd "requested information" from whatever lame company he was from. He assured me that I had, and I assured him that I had most certainly not. He told me that I was wrong, that I had...

That is when you file a complaint against them and let them face the legal fees and fines.

they have also already stated that visinting a web site does not consitute a "business relationship. You must actively solicit goods or services from the company.

Exemptions from the list include calls from charities, pollsters and on behalf of politicians.
I love this line. Have to make sure the politicians have a loophole so they can bother you over the phone.

Ya, I'll bet all the soldiers who have died over in Iraq and their families really think this redeems the Bush Administration.

Those soldiers probably mean no more to him than a sub 25 dollar gas bill every time he decides to fill up his SUV.

Not at all! I respect all men and women in the armed forces. And to the ones that died my heart goes out to them and there families. But to join the army or army reserves and to think you are not going to war ever kinda surprises me.I might of miss read Xouqoa's post thinking he was making fun of the soldiers.

No, I was saying that I don't think this list makes up for the US and Iraqi lives that were lost in the war. A war which thus far, hasn't accomplished two of the main objectives. (1) Capture or kill Saddam, 2) find WMD)

1) Regime change in Iraq
2) Find WMD
3) Capture or Kill Saddam

Number 1 was a success, number 3 will likely never happen as Saddam is probably part of the atomosphere now. Number 2, well the USA could not just find WMD, they need time to hide a bunker somewhere and plant the evidence.

Good job on stopping or curtailing the endless phonecalls though.
