Dennis Miller to join Fox news channel

Supposedly joining the Hannity and Colmes show. I can't stand his type of comedy and do not find him funny at all, but damn if I don't find myself agreeing with most of the things he says.

Dennis Miller Live used to crack me up like no other show on TV. I love him because he is anti-partisan and his rants reflect some of the flaws in the way our society approaches some issues.

Yet another sign that Fox is more interested in entertainment over news. What a frightening trend.

Eh, I don't know that I'd call it frightening. Dennis Miller is a pretty bright guy who stays well informed on most current affairs, or at least historically he did. I don't see what makes him less qualified to speak about the news than some of the other people that have shows on the news channels. Just because he has a sense of humor he can't present valid opinions?

Sure, Miller is a smart guy, I never argued that fact. I also like his style of comedy. However, Fox is increasingly more about entertainment, and playing to the lowest common denominator in order to pad their ratings. I simply see this is just one more step leading further down the road of banality. God knows what the major news networks will be like 10 years from now. Will they have ex-porn stars juggeling baby kittens while they explain about the latest War Against Terror? I mean, Christ, you gotta draw the line somewhere.

Bleh I would rather have a smart person talking than someone who took journalism because they thought it would be an easy degree. Anything is an improvement over the vapid headed bimbos and chucks on most news shows.

in the state that elected Jim Trafacant more than once...

I dont think Dennis Miller is a bad hire for Fox. I dont know how he will fit w/ Hannity and Colmes. For starters they should just kick Holmes off the show. That guy is only on there to give lipservice to a two sided treatment of the issues. And Sean Hannity doesnt exactly strike me as the kind of meathead who likes to share the spotlight.

I think Geraldo as an actual Field Correspondant is a MUCH more dubious maneuver in the Infotainment direction than Miller.

Well, the buzz in California is about the upcoming recall effort against the governor and the introduction of Arnold Schwartzenegger as a candidate for Governor on the Republican ticket. Could be very interesting.

Arnold running for office would be sweet! Instead of boring debates about the "issues," we could have a gladiatorial combat. Conan the Republican fears no one!

Miller is probably more legitimate when it comes to political knowledge and opinion than everyone everyone else at Fox News combined.

You know who they should get to balance the show, is Genine Garofalo, the O'Reilly buster. Now THAT would be a show to watch. She's to the left but she makes tight arguments, I find myself having to agree with her opinions lots of times, even though I don't want to.

I pity you. I watched DML religously, but couldn't stand him as a football commentator.
