Nag/Vox Soloed

Post by makkanosappo »

Promethian Order had a twinked out 52 monk solo Nag/Vox. Semi old news but they released the video of it today.

Here's the url for the video

I don't know if I'm the only one with the feeling that this isn't soloing Naggy, but having a highlvl healer in the background doesn't qualify for me as soloing. :)=

There was a debate wether this monk was using mad heal potions, DS potions and like everything else he could get his hands on. Now it's been sorted out. Weird though that SoE haven't made this impossible, when it's not possible to do any other actions as a post lvl 52 char in Naggy/Vox lairs, but healing is allowed? Was only a matter of time before this would start to happen it seems. Oh well. Speculations only. :) Still a kickass job

Where did you see he is getting outside healing? looks to me like he is chewing thru tons of healing potions, you will notice that spell graphics are on and the shammy filming is not sparkling with the healing graphic.

That shaman only healed himself twice.

There is no debate.
He openly admits to using potions and any other available healing items.

If a 52+ gets on the aggro list of Nagafen of Vox, they get punted.
You cant even have a 52+ pulling the giants in their lairs.

Yeah, it's higher than 52.
I probably could have been more specific.

Twinked out, buffed out 52 paladin with the same ton of healing items and a soulfire in a bag should be able to do it as well.

all mmog developers should look at this as a rulebook for what happens when mudflation gets out of control, and to make mmorpgs skill based rather than item based.

although item based will ultimately increase the longevity of your product, so fuck game design.

Well, in actuality, you can heal with a 52+ char using spells like SE, Torpor, etc because they have not aggro attached to them. However, stepping in line of sight of nag is an instant port out. The shaman did that several times so even if he was healing the monk he was level 52 or lower. I'm kind of interested in what types of buffs the monk had...I'm guessing level 65 buffs, but whatever. It's kind of impressive I guess...fun to do if you're bored.

Heal over time spells do have aggro associated with them, it's just not a lot. But it's the same thing as buffing someone- you'd get ported out due to your level for casting a heal over time on someone that was aggro on Nag or Vox, the same way you'd get ported for buffing.

That's very weird, then. I know for sure that I've been aggro'd for casting heal over times on people, and furthermore, there's nothing to suggest that they'd have zero aggro component, as they are most certainly a buff.

You get punted the moment you hit their agro list in any way, before the spell resolves. Heal over time spells, applied to someone who is directly (or by proxy via bard song touching them for example) on their hate list results in immediate ejection.

There is one tactic I have seen used that I think might have been fixed, however. Specifically I have seen high level people plant their pets on them, heal their pets, and not get punted. I never tried it myself, but Ive seen other people doing it.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

He used the instant rune 3 sheild * Bladestorm?*, Damage Pots, and instant 400hp heal pots.
If I remember reading his post right, he had full lvl 65 buffs. You can check out some SSs on his guild's board. Too lazy to double check.

Only reason he could do this, is due to next to no agro regen Naggy/vox has. They pretty much killed themselves on the damage sheild. The log parsed he did only like 16k damage in melee to them, the rest was damage sheild+rune3.

No way you would see this happen in VP. Regen there is crazy shit.

My bad then. :)

The shammy is lvl 55+. I could be mistaking, but I'm almost certain that he's using "Form of the Great Bear" spell which is level 55, and judging from the gear the monk has (tunare weapons dual wielded for one at level 52), then I don't think it's wrong to assume that the shammy is level 65 and the monk is his pride and joy when it comes to twinking. :)=

Yep, only way to get the white bear look is to be a 55+ barbarian shaman and use form of the great bear. Also, no you cant torpor or quiescence or use any sort of heals on people on naggy \ vox raids. I think you used to be able to but not anymore, I did it a while back and I think the heal itself DID land but i was instantly shot out of the zone.
