I upgraded to Windows XP and I can't get my EQ shortcut to work to skip the patch, I guess its different from the Win98se version.
Was wondering if anyone could help me with the info i need to put in the location so it will skip the patch and go right to the game.
Thanks

Apparently the next version of Windows (from what I hear) will finally be completely finished with Dos. Or there's some crazy new version of Dos coming out, that isn't like Dos at all. I think the filesystem was going to be less of a directory/file heirarchy, and they are even changing the standard executable from an exe to an ext or something similar. I forget exactly, a friend who works for MS was telling me about it when we were both drunk.

'everquest' is 9 letters.Voronwë wrote:it is pathetic that there is any vestige of the DOS filename restriction (8.3) left in Windows at all to execute a command of any sort.c:/progra~1/everquest/eqgame.exe
