Drug Companies Increase Spending to Lobby Congress

Post by Forthe »

The PhRMA budget allocates $1 million "to change the Canadian health care system" and $450,000 to stem the flow of low-price prescription drugs from online pharmacies in Canada to customers in the United States.

Lobbying is totally fucked up. Its a sad thing that these groups have more control over our governments than it's citizens do. Hopefully these vultures don't get their way.

And stay the fuck out of Canada!

Unfortunatley the pharmaceutical companies in the states are completely out of control right now and will probably get away with whatever the hell they ask for. I think collectively they spread the most money around washington than any other special interest lobby group(s), so if they collectively want something done, it'll get done.

Unfortunately in a pure capitalist/free market environment even the government is for sale. This is why Americans pay something like 400% more for their meds than Canadians do, and the pharma companies are still turning a profit in Canada!
