The seller is smart not retarded....why would you be retarded for selling a video card for $1k and buying the same video card 3 months from now for half as much? Seems like the seller is wisely taking advantage of someone elses desire to have the best card at a premium price.
A 2 cent stamp is worth 2 cents....the easiest way to verify this is to read the front of the stamp...or ask a post office worker if you can use it to mail a say....a ford mustang. Chances are the post office worker will laugh at you and say you can't mail shit with a 2 cent stamp unless you place a 32 cent stamp net to it, then you can mail a standard letter. Yet I bet we can find people paying $100's for one....
So until collectors cease to pay astounding rates for retarded shit, I don't see why a computer enthusiast would be retarded for paying 1k for a pre-release video card.....we pay premiums to have the best in the stores all the time, there is obviously a much higher premium to have better than what is in the stores. Better yet ever see anyone assemble a amchine with multiple processors, mass quantities of ram, over clock it and case it in a mini-fridge? All top-end supplies? I'm sure you've heard of it....some people are insane about computer preformance.
Personally I would never pay what the buyer here paid, I would be unlikely to buy that card until it's been on the market for 3-6 months and I see the price drop...or better yet, right before the release of the next card from Nvidia or the competition.
