Good news is all around us!

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush launched his re-election bid Friday, formally filing papers to seek a second term with his postwar popularity soaring despite a sluggish economy.
At this point in time I think it will be an easy re-election.

certainly Bush is the favorite by any analysis at this point.

but it is very early, and there are many potential pitfalls for both Bush and his adversary-to-be-determined to negotiate.

So far the Democrats have zero charismatic candidates. If you think Lieberman (frontrunner, I belive) will be able to appeal to the youth like Clinton did, you're mistaken. A bad economy alone will not oust King George.

I think Lieberman will not even win one primary. Remember at this stage in 1991, almost nobody had heard of Bill Clinton, and he certainly wasnt considered a strong candidate by many.

I'd put Kerry as the frontrunner myself, but any speculation this early no more accurate than my urine stream after 10 saki bombs.

I am pretty sure Bush will be running up againt Kerry next year. Kerry lacks Clinton's charisma I believe but at least he might lend an ounce of credibility back to the oval office since he is a guy who built himself up from nothing, is a decorated vietnam vet and didn't have some billionaire daddy hand him everything in his life. A president with some actual street smarts and the ability to make his own decisions would be a refreshing change from that cowardly spoiled rich kid that's pretending to be president now.

Amen brother!

If she was even half as smart as she thinks she is then we would elect her Queen for Life.

I'm in awe.

Considering the economy is showing signs of a slow wake-up, I think Bush has the next one sewn up.

If Bush is not re-elected, countless political satirists will weep.

Entertainment over government, I say. Why do you think I don't complain about my Prime Minister? Anyone who deals with would-be assailants by telling his bodyguards "Step aside, i'll handle this one"* is okay by me!

I spent some time researching Kerry. IMHO he is one of the lesser evils of that pack of Democratic panderers. Kerry would tend to take the "strong defense" card away from Bush so that they might actually have to talk about social issues. I wouldn't bet against you on Kerry getting the nod.

I wouldn't mind Kerry getting about 40% of the vote total. I'd want to see him get enough of a showing so that he runs again in 2008 and denies Hillary the nomination. I can't stand that bitch. She's kooky!
