"The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking the public for assistance in locating 53 Texas legislators who have disappeared," the bulletin read. "Anyone who has information regarding the current whereabouts of the legislators listed below is asked to call 1-800-525-5555."

I wonder if the voters will even remember this come re-election time. However, I do like that they are sending Chuck Norris and the Texas Rangers out to find them. Maybe this will be a made for TV Walker, Texas Ranger movie.

HAHA you gotta love Texas politics.

If you want an entertaining read, you should try some Texas government history.

This isn't the first time wacky stuff happened here.

Heh, they plum run the democrats out of the state. lol

hehe, we were joking about that at work as well...Ran the Dem's back across the Red River to that other place with the red dirt. I think it's funny they had warrants out for them and everything, but apparently the Texas Rangers can't get them out of Oklahoma.

Somehow I think of this situation in Texas when I hear this song on the country stations lately...
Beer For My Horses (Toby Keith with Willie Nelson)
(Toby Keith/Scott Emerick)

Well a man come on the 6 o'clock news
Said somebody's been shot, somebody's been abused
Somebody blew up a building
Somebody stole a car
Somebody got away
Somebody didn't get too far yeah
They didn't get too far

Grandpappy told my pappy, back in my day, son
A man had to answer for the wicked that he done
Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys
Hang them high in the street for all the people to see that

Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune
We'll all meet back at the local saloon
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

We got too many gangsters doing dirty deeds
We've got too much corruption, too much crime in the streets
It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
Send 'em all to their maker and he'll settle 'em down
You can bet he'll set 'em down 'cause

Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune
We'll all meet back at the local saloon
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune
We'll all meet back at the local saloon
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

I know. Sometimes I wonder if he really is that stupid of a redneck or just a smartypants lefty parodying a stupid redneck to see how long he can get away with it.
