Thank you Winnow!

Picked up an MX700 last night. Initially, I thought it wasn't going to work for me, but then I updated the drivers (the ones on the CD are shit), and there really is no mouse lag. :)

Now I just have to get used to the change in weight, and my kill ratio will go up and up!

Thanks again.

Actually, I was posting it publically as a recommendation for anyone else that might be in the market for a wireless mouse that can be used for gaming. :)

Aranuil, so that's the wireless mouse then? I vaguely remember that thread. How much and where did you get it? Could you provide product page linkage please.

The MX700 Logitech Mouse is excellent. I forgot to mention the drivers. Aye, updating the drivers enables proper mouse scrolling etc.

You mentioned a change in weight: is it heavier or lighter? For me, I have found heavier mice are better, in part because I like to keep my FPSs tuned super sensitive (smaller travel distance to turn).

The problem I was initially having was with the sniper rifle. I was able to make large movements without a problem, but the small adjustments were laggy and failing. I actually yanked the USB cable mid-game and plugged my intellimouse back in so I could cap an enemy. Once I updated the drivers, it was all good. :)

Soriathus, yes it's wireless, I got mine for $69.00 on sale at Fry's electronics (thanks for that too Winnow), don't even bother using it until you've updated the drivers, and here's the product page:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page= ... nguageid=1

The mouse actually scans at a higher resolution than the Boomslang Razer 3500 (which I had and fucking hated btw).

Obgar, it's considerably heavier than my wired intellimouse explorer optical, but the feel is very nice, and I'm sure I'll be used to it quickly. :)

I loved my Boomslang. I have very paw-like hands, tho. I used hard for 2 years before it died. Had I known the company was gonna go belly-up, I'd have bought 10 of the fuckers.

Wow that's a really bad ass looking design. Thought to myself at first, oh that's an electric razor! Not too sure about all the buttons though, are they programmable like one for double click another for double right click... I think that would take the most getting used to the placement of the buttons... seems odd. As far as the weight, I agree sometimes heavier is better when doing things like sniping. It would be nice to have a mouse that had a 3rd button I could program as CTRL+CLICK for tradeskillin.

I have one and was about to return it until I updated the drivers. I went from absolutely hating it to loving it. I use my MX700 with Windows XP.

I had just been reading about these too, I've gone through several different mice, the ones with trackballs i got sick of quickly and have been using an MS Intellimouse explorer without a ball and have liked it. However I've always sorta wanted a wireless and the one big problem I've had with this mouse is in fps games when I zoom in and try to snipe someone it just doesn't have small enough increments.. crosshairs over the head.. move a tiny bit and the cross hairs are below, that kind of thing.

So anyway, that MX700 was recomended to me by my brother and I was reading up on it. Have you noticed any difference in how tiny of movements you can make? i've never really had trouble with fast or large movements.

Im not sure what to tell you except that it peforms better and more accurately than any mouse I've owned including corded optical mice.

Get it and the updated drivers and you'll be happy. As mentioned above, the weight of the mouse also helps with small movement accuracy IMO. Be sure to have a nice optical mouse pad. It's not needed but helps for smoother movement.

Once you get the latest drivers installed, the mouse is MORE accurate in small increments than the intellimouse explorer. I was sniping, killing, HALO dropping, destroying last night.
