The Perfect Ice Cream

Post by Lalanae »

Whether you prefer cake or pie, ice cream is always nice. If you could design your personal ice cream (ala Ben & Jerry's) what would be in it?

Mine would be banana flavored ice cream with walnuts and swirls of fudge.

Down in Texas we have a brand called Blue Bell.

I'm quite fond of flavor called Tin Roof.

It has vanilla, chocolate fudge and some kind of candied nuts in it.

All together it's quite good.

The scope of this question cannot be fully fathomed by human minds! There's so many different kinds of ice cream I like, I don't know if I could pin down the BEST one. Some of my favorites tho are the candy bar ones. Like 2 up here that you probably haven't heard of down there are Coffee Crisp and Smarties ice cream. (not the Smarties you have in the states that are those candies.. Smarties in Canada are like M&M's, but thinner, more of a candy shell.. all in all better ;) ). Rolo ice cream is also +++++.

But really, I'm a pushover for ice cream. I just don't really go for the super super chocolate ones.

Sounds almost like my favorite - Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey except that instead of swirls of fudge, it has fudge chunks. Another good one in Monkey Wrench which combines their peanut butter/peanut butter cup ice cream with Chunky Monkey....

And it can be shipped anywhere in USA, for those who can afford the packing price. Ouch.

a dairy up here makes a kind of ice cream they call moose tracks, which is regular ice cream with big swirls of thick fudge and little reese's peanut butter cups and something else. I get that all the time. I also like peanut butter and chocolate from baskin robbins.

I'm not an enormous fan of fruity ice cream but I do like strawberry if its made from real strawberries and has chunks of strawberries in it.

Hmm that's hard.... but here's 3 of my favorites

Strawberry Cheesecake by the Marble Slab with chunks of fresh strawberrys.

Chunky Monkey by Ben and Jerry's banana ice cream with walnuts and chunks of milk chocolate.

Banana Split by Blue Bell. Vanilla ice cream with chunks of cherry's and banana's with a swirl of chocolate.

Lactose intolerant....TT

I usually go for rainbow sherbert. Or like a popsicle if I'm going for a cold treat.....but occassionally I will go for real ice cream and suffer the consequences.

I like most of them....not sure what I would do if I could invent a flavor....but I'd probably make it lactose free and low calorie....

I like vanilla, I like carmel swirls, peanutt butter, chocolate....so probably I'd have 2 of those flavors in it and something else like banana.

Like chocolate with banana flavored ice cream swirls topped with some caramel. I dunno if that would taste good or not. I'd be willing to try.

A couple years ago, B&J made a variant of it that was chocolate ice cream with lumps of peanut butter cookie dough. I'd sell my soul for another pint of that stuff.

The perfect Ice Cream is Chocolate Ice Cream.

Haagen Daas Belgian Chocolate Chocolate is good.
HD Caramel Cone Explosion (no longer made) is pretty damn good.

I like Ben and Jerry's , but none of their flavors really do it for me. There is always one or two extra ingredients that kind of makes it abit too much for my taste.

Haagen Daas Chocolate walnut brownie with fresh raspberries on top!
Also Baskin Robbins used to have Daquiri Ice that was Primo.
Or the homemade chocolate from that BP station down in Clanton Alabama under the Water tower painted like a giant peach.

If you're ever down in Key West, there is this little shop on the quiet end of Duval St. called Flamingo Crossing that makes awesome ice cream. They make the standards, but they also make a lot of stuff using local fruit and stuff. Much love for teh bird!
