HELP!?!? computer techies plz

Post by Axien_Dellusions »

Okay I have a huge problem. Im' running Windowsxp prof on my computer. I can't get another window to open up, like a link. I just deleted ad shield thinking that it was causing my problem but when i click on a link it doesn't open. Anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Ax

Could you explain that a bit clearer. Are you having problems with IE on your XP machine? Check in the internet tools under the advanced tab and see what you have going on there.

When you click on a link, does it try to open in the same Window? That can be changed under Tools-Internet Options, on the Advanced Tab, take the check mark out of the "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" box.

If that's not it, throw some more details out there, I'm sure someone will scrounge up a fix.

Yeah it pops up a window but the window is blank. A loading bar, isp or a tool bar don't even show up. It says Microsoft Internet Explorer powered by Roadrunner and that's it.

Ah! Try this:

1. Control Panel > open "add/remove programs"
2. In "change or remove programs" select "Microsoft
Internet Explorer" and then hit the "change or
remove button"
3. Select "Repair Internet Explorer" once
complete, restart your computer

Woot! Thanks that did the trick. Any clue on how myself or my husband messed it up to begin with?
