40 shaman, gear question.

Post by Akaran_D »

Hola.. making time to work on my shamette again. Main things I am concerned about are her boots and range slot items. The rest of it either looks good, or I have replacements planned allready (Tae Ew Shield for her secondary slot, Solstice Earring to replace her Forrest Loop).

Any advice would be appericated. Once she gets of level, I'm going to buy her some of the barbarian adv cultural to take care of versious slots. I also have a JBB awaiting her to get to 46 to equip it...

i'm an unorthadoxed shammy. i never had the JBB or the fungi tunic, never will. all i can say is HP ='s mana and AC is overrated. try to maintain atleast 200 wis and then focus on HP and mana items always putting HP ahead of mana.

I'll agree with the comment about HP. HP = Mana to a shaman so the more the merrier. Try to focus on the things you can buff the least. For example with our buffs and self buffs the thing we can buff total the least is STA. So focus on a lot of STA and HP.

Because of that spear you have, DEX is a beautiful thing.

Don't overstress about WIS items because as soon as you start getting at least a thurg breastplate and thurg leggings that'll net you a lot of WIS, but try to get to at least 200 and get KEI whenever possible.

I personally diagree with the AC is overrated comment. When I get slow agro it's nice to have that extra AC to help take hits for a few seconds until the tank gets agro back. Also AC is nice when no chanter is around because you can basically slow at will and purposefully get agro from the adds and root park them away from the fight. Again the exta AC helps a lot. Try to get over 1000 AC self buffed or as close to it as possible. This will make a HUGE difference if you XP in old world zones like LGuk and Solb. Again just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Also above all, when you hit 44 GET STOICISM!!! I can't say this enough. You will never be without mana with stoicism and a fungi. GL to you.

I was always a big fan of Barbed Dragonscale Boots. An Orb of Unidentifiable Pulp makes a nice range.
