Boring as hell today at work, but anyway...
Any of you gals care to share your favorite cosmetic products, the ones you just "can't live without?" Makeup, skincare, whatever.

Haircare -
John Frieda's Frizz-Ease.
I've got long hair that has always been on the wavy/frizzy side, and I've always had problems keeping it smooth and straight, but I started using Frizz-Ease about 2.5 years ago and it really, really works, no matter what the weather is like outside. (humidity used to suck so bad)
If you don't have/want straight hair, I believe they offer a product for curly hair too.
I highly recommend it.
Also, I've been using Thermasilk Shampoo/Conditioner for a good three years now, and I love it. I have tried most shampoos/conditioners out there and this is by far the best yet. It is especially good if you tend to blow dry your hair often. I've noticed since using it that my hair doesn't get as "dried out" and I don't have as many split ends.
My 2 cents

ooh I love Frizz Ease too. I have the same type hair as you and can't get smooth looking hair without it. I've tried some other frizz tamer products but they aren't the same. I also find that the Frizz Ease straightener cream (Get Straight? comes in a purple pump bottle) does a good job of making my waves board-straight.
I'm gonna try Thermasilk now.
My favorite recent discoveries include
Nars Body Glow - very expensive but worth it for special occaisions. Its a monoi tiare (coconut oil & tiare flower blend) oil that adds a very slight shimmery bronze to the skin. Looks like liquid chocolate and smells awesome.
Too Faced double-sided lip gloss/color wand. I'm a gloss fiend and this stuff is the bestest. Two complementary colors (one more sheer than the other) with two different flavors that blend to make a 3rd flavor. Kinda pricey though.

The purple bottle, yep! That's the one I get. I think it's called "Wind-Down relaxing cream" or something. I also use the little purple bottle of hair serum and a 5 minute manager blow drying spray (makes your hair dry faster, and it does work - I've got hair to my hips and I went from 20 mins drying to anywhere from 10-15 mins) - all Frizz Ease brand.Lalanae wrote:ooh I love Frizz Ease too. The body glow stuff sounds interesting. I've actually been looking for something like that. Where do you get it? Any ole' store?
EDIT: If you're going to try Thermasilk, give it a few weeks to really see the difference. Also, I don't know what kind of shampoo/conditioner you use now, but if it is Pantene, I noticed that that stuff actually made my hair *wavier* and harder to manage. Kind of defeated the purpose of using a straightening cream.

Biosilk Silk Therapy
It's a lot like Thermasilk conditioner that you put on wet hair and leave in. Also works as a detangler. I love Thermasilk, too, but this replaced it for me.Silk Therapy is ideal lightweight replenishing treatment to protect and maintain hair and skin in optimum condition. Concentrated silk, fortified with botanicals and Vitamin E impart a smooth and silky feel while providing a brilliant high gloss shine. Will not build up or weigh hair down. Sunscreens safeguard hair from possible UV damage.

Hmm, I had noticed that when I first started using pantene. Going to have to try Themasilk. Also I loved Biosilk, but I found that it tended to "dry" my hair out in the long run. Now I use the Frizz Ease products.Calixte wrote:EDIT: If you're going to try Thermasilk, give it a few weeks to really see the difference. H2O plus smoothing mint foot rub
Origins - Never a dull moment skin polisher / Origins - Clear Improvement charcoal mask.
Neutrogena - Healthy skin anti-wrinkle anti-blemish cream
Aveda - Rosemary Mint Shampoo/Conditioner and Personal Blends Shampoo/Conditioner (their color enhanced shampoo/conditioners are also to die for if you are looking for a little perk to your hair color - you can get a color mixed and scented to your preference with the personal blends collection - love it!)
TheBalm - Lip Plumping Tinted Lip Gloss (its fruity flavored yum)
And yeah - Softlips owns.

Tried the Aussie stuff, it didn't seem that great for me, but my mom loves it. Anyone else use Mane and Tail occasionally for body?
Edit forgot to add my fav product...Prada Gel Cream.

mmm well my picks
Jergens Ultra Healing lotion - I've tried dozens of lotions even expensive imports and honestly I love this stuff - works great.
Nailtique and OPI Chip Skip are the win for the manicure.
Villa Floriani - love their skin care stuff especially the face scrub and the brightening eye repair cream
brow mousse - I use Tweezerman but have tried some others which are equally good - brows are too often overlooked!

I wouldn't say Aussie is "great" for my hair. I buy it simply for the cruelty free aspect.Shaerra wrote: Tried the Aussie stuff, it didn't seem that great for me, but my mom loves it.
I haven't found a product yet, that has done wonders for my hair, which is very straight, fine (which makes it very hard to style), and very long (waist length).
Seconded... Also the Elixir Daily Leave-on conditioner is amazing.Sirensa wrote:Aveda - Rosemary Mint Shampoo/Conditioner and Personal Blends Shampoo/Conditioner (their color enhanced shampoo/conditioners are also to die for if you are looking for a little perk to your hair color - you can get a color mixed and scented to your preference with the personal blends collection - love it!) IMO, there is no better gloss than Aveda's Lip Gloss Minus Lanolin.
And last but certainly not least, I don't use body lotions... I use 100% oils from the Fragrane Shop which you can have blended to suit your personal taste. My flavor of the month this month is oil of Lavender, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.

Yup - I have to agree. Jergens owns. I've been using their Body Firming Moisturizer lately and love it. I have a lot of skin sensitivity to certain products and fragrances (cursed allergies) so this is just a nice, clean feeling lotion.CalandraWindrose wrote:Jergens Ultra Healing lotion - I've tried dozens of lotions even expensive imports and honestly I love this stuff - works great.
I would say that MAC's Studio Finish pressed powder is the best foundation powder that I've ever used. I don't like liquid foundation...it makes me feel pasty on my face for some reason. This is great though! I put it over MAC's concealer Cover Up and it's like I really didn't put anything on my face at all.
Benefit's Benetint cheek stain. I love this! It comes in a jar like nail polish and has a brush like nail polish. I put it on my cheeks to make them look naturally flushed. I put it on my lips with Bliss Labs various lip gloss colors to make my lips look naturally flushed as well.
Oil of Olay all in one moisturizer. I used to use Lancome's but I go through so much of it that I started using a less expensive brand that comes in a huge bottle of it.
Cuticle oil. I think Sun Oil or something like that is the brand. Use this on my nails just about every day to prevent cracking and dry skin where the nail meets the skin.
Roc's eye cream to prevent wrinkles.
There are these new concealers that you can buy that are like a green cream. I know, sounds funny but I bought one by Almay just to try it out. I like it a lot. Dab a little on a red blemish and under your eyes and it makes dark circles and the redness go away. It really brightens up your face.

Urban Decay -XXX shine cooling lip gloss(for the teeny-tiny sparklies)
Urban Decay- lip stick palet- (it's the size of a credit card & about 1/4 inch thick so it sits nicely in jeans etc.) and of course you have to deal with the lipstick brush because the one it comes with sux.
Cherry Chapstick if I don't feel like wearing lipcolor
Joico products for the hair, when I care.
Favorite hairspray- Sebastian Shaper (smells the best imo)
Hayley said it "Roc's eye cream" for wrinkles is the BEST

Okay here's the basic...
Oil of Olay-daily facial moisturizer cloths, facial moisturizer.
Shampoos and Conditioners-Have to switch often or my hair adapts (don't ask) so Biolage and Pantene
Pantene deep moisturizing (works great on wind blown hair and tangles)
Herbal Essence leave in conditioner
My Clinque concealer stick (3 hours of sleep with my daughter up all night it's a life saver)
A plain black eyeliner, nail file and foot pumice.

I don't wear any makeup ever unless my friend puts some of hers on me. Then all I do is sit there and scratch and rub at it until I fuck it up and have to wash my face.
So my vote goes to Irish Spring and Pert Plus Shampoo and Conditioner™
I also get this pear scented body spray from eco chic that my fiance likes.

I personally favor Pantene deep moisturizing conditioner (switched off by plain ol' Herbal Essences, because my hair also adapts
).
For Shampoo I use Neutrogena line.
Body soap, I use zest or dove, or something from Bath and Body Works than Moon grabs.
Really I am very picky about my haircare products only.

For Frizzies
For Frizzy or normal hair try Bed Head hair supplies
Makes your hair super shiny and it smells really good.
The shampoo/conditioner rarely needs to be rotated with other stuff
(I have that problem too)
It seems to always come out the same way after using it.
My problem is if my hair gets too soft I cant do jack with it.
I rotate mine w/ Clinique hair products.
Use the Bed Head Shine Serum
(similar to frizz ease but it is more of a gel and isnt oily)
It doesnt weight your hair down and makes it look shiny/healthy. Normally costs around $15 bucks in salon.
Ive had my bottle for about 6 months and it isnt half gone - so its worth it.
Their shampoo/conditioner runs around $20+ ea.

Boilage normalizing shampoo for daily use
Biolage conditioning balm i use every other day on my roots and every day on my ends to prevent drying of my scalp
once a week i use Paul Mitchell hydrating and cleansing shampoo, to help clean the buildup on my hair.
I rarely use any kind of styling products or gels, when I do, I use Paul Mitchell glass drops for a finished, sleek look.
I'm a lipstick/chapstick addict.. i never leave home without it. I typically use Lancome or Clinique products, since they don't dry out my skin. My alltime favorite eye duos are Lancome Color Focus products. I use a cream base pencil to help the products last longer, and for the base, I typically use the color Filigree, then top off with a smidge of Constellation a smokey eye effect. a charcoal liner for the bottom of my eyes if I want dramatic effects. Clinique glosswear for lips are great, but after a bit, gets a bit sticky, so I only use it when I go out for the night. Normally, I use lancome or clinique lips, but my makeup bag is known to have max factor or revlon longwear lipstick.
Every morning, I use softlips cherry flavor to keep my lips moist before I put on lipstick.
For cleansing, I love the Dove hydrating cleansing wipes for a daily cleaning. I also use mud masks once a week. With the wedding so near, skin care is the top of my priority list atm.
My dresser has a stock of bath and body works lotions and victoria secret perfumes, i'm addicted. My favorite scent for lotion is Cucumber Melon, and my perfume of choice is Victoria Secret Heaven. For body moisturizing, I usually use Jergens body lotion right after a shower while my skin is damp... Jergens is the best for that!
