yeah it is unfortunate.

but it is worse in the UK and many parts of mainland Europe. Newspapers have much more distinctive political leanings and agendas than they do here.

But it is the result of a competitive media environment. it is a function of the marketplace - at least to the extent that it is an effective way to get viewership and advertising revenue (Feeding The Beast), which can be at the expense of "Journalistic Integrity".

But i'm not a journalist, so i wont get off on that tangent =).

Have to disagree there. In all my years of living in Europe I have never seen as much sensationalism as here, and I doubt you will find a stronger political supporter in media anywhere than Fox.

The UK tabloids are pretty bad at this stuff tbh but at least they make no attempt to hide their political agenda.
The broadsheets are less sensationalist but just as biased.
