Deliberate targetting? or simple wrong place, wrong time.

Synopses: Snipers fire on tank (allegedly). Tank fires back. Unfortunate for the reporters that Saddam's regime is using them as unwitting human shields. Same time, bombs drop on Al-jezera and Abu-dabi local offices. Coincidence?
If true (the sniper incident), then I have no qualms. The independent reporters are there at thier own risks. They know the dangers. It is unfortunate that it happens. If there was no snipers, then someone should be in deep Dog doo for this.

BEST. ICON. EVER!
OMG Raistin, that fucking rules.
Regarding the reporter issue in the Palestine Hotel (or whatever it was called). There most likely were snipers in the building and the reporters are in harm's way just by being in downtown Baghdad.
Regarding Al-Jazeera, it was probably unintentional. They should probably be thanking the US though. I'm sure this will give them more street cred with their radical islamic terrorist friends. Expect to see more 'Behind the Martyr' specials, and more 'American Infidel' contestants featured on their fine, fine network.

I know reading isn't really your thing, but just to clarify, I was commenting on the original posters question which oh by the way... included an article. I didn't have to source my speculation because that's what the original poster was asking for.Spangaloid_PE wrote:do better than what?
you wanna make sure everyone else links there sources. you have no problems pointing this out for others. you should be doing the same thing.
Don't you have some 'don't ask, don't tell' to get back to?

Sorry if that last comment hit a little too close to home. No wait, I'm not. You're right, I don't know you, but as I've said before the way you've been representing yourself here on the boards has been largely embarassing.
Your comments on the CMoH thread were largely semantics, and your comments here were needless. If you want to troll my posts for errors, your welcome to, but don't expect me to not respond.

i got no issues with you responding to anything, freedom of speech and all that shit, but it's the way you responded to me letting you and anyone else reading it know that you don't win the CMoH.Aranuil wrote:Sorry if that last comment hit a little too close to home. In case anyone hasn't mentioned it to you, this is Veeshanvault. You're free to post whatever you like, as is everyone else. That means we can comment on each other's posts for as long as we like, without regard to futility or importance.
In short, if you don't want me to comment on the shit you post, don't post or don't involve me in your bullshit.

it doesn't matter, cause as you put it so nicely...Aranuil wrote:The part your not getting is that if you run your mouth, people will call you on it. Since you like to run your mouth, you'd better thicken up your skin or gtfo.

Iraqui soldiers aren't really the problem at the moment. They're easy enough to identify and eliminate. It's the technicals and undercover soldiers/radicals (I would say terrorists but that doesn't really seem to fit) that are the problem.Kelshara wrote:There were some Norwegian reporters in the hotel. I read the report in the newspaper and they said it was probably a camera that did it. They had not seen any Iraqi soldiers or anything at the hotel whatsoever.
Hopefully it wasn't just Iraq that learned tactics from reading Black Hawk Down.

I can look for them if you like. I don't know them by heart, but I was under the impression that they ran along the lines of, 'Engage targets when ordered to and return fire if you are fired upon.'
If you have a link/copy of them I wouldn't mind seeing them.

I vote for funny.kyoukan type-R wrote:its funny because given the quality of your previous posts I can't tell if you think I'm funny or if you are being sarcastic.
As for the 2 incidents today although I have OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of faith in our military ( after serving 4 years in it), I find it hard to believe that it was just shitty luck. But then again, why would we try to provoke these people or even make martyrs out of them (Al-Jazeera)?
*EDIT* On a side note, can we get a damn spell checker so I dont have to look up every work I want to type?
*edit* good grief...I rest my case on the spell checker.
