We're on the new site

We're on the new site
New server is built, configured, locked down, and cleaned up.
I have already submitted DNS changes so things may be a bit wierd this weekend. As soon as the DNS has updated to me, I will lock the board that night, and it wont be unlocked until we have the databases over on the new site, and I will provide a direct IP link until all DNS changes have been propagated worldwide.
We will be deleting nothing from here (just in case I fuck something up) but when we get the new site and everything is going good we will unlock the boards over there.
Make sure not to KS, steamroll, train, reveal hidden genders or anything else noteworthy that would require posting here until the switch is complete please.
BNT people - with any luck I'll be able to do a smooth import/export just as I will be doing for the boards, but if not, it was high time for a reset anyways =P
addresses to keep written down until everything is switched over.
<strike>We are currently at http://evo.phpwebhosting.com/~xouqoa</strike> if your DNS entries for your isp's take you away from here before the switch is fully live.
the new site can be accessed at this ip - http://216.88.24.143/veeshanvault - the databases aren't connected, so about the only thing you will see on the site at this point is the front page, and a bunch of errors if you try to go to the forums or anything else.
Once again, to reiterate, if I completely hose this switch, nothing will be deleted or moved from here, so worst case scenario, we will just reactivate this one while I'm throughly beaten about the head with bricks and tire irons.
Look at the switch happening late Saturday night, around the day light savings time switch. Oh yeah, spring forward your clocks - be prepared for your lost hour of sleep.
Again, hopefully by Monday, veeshanvault.org will be just as (ab)normal as ever.

if you were walking around and you came upon a tulip with tits, would you let it be for the rest of the world to enjoy.. or would you pick it and carry it off to a secluded area to motorboat them?

Re: WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
I'd just reset it. It's pretty much over as it stands right now.pyrella wrote:BNT people - with any luck I'll be able to do a smooth import/export just as I will be doing for the boards, but if not, it was high time for a reset anyways =P
I think we can find a better balanced game, too. That one is so out of whack it isn't funny. =)

I think you did that already last night when you destroyed my main 5 planets that had 200 million fighters on each one. Not a lot I can really do now... so you win I spose.Forthe wrote:reset!?!!? Must exterminate Team Bok then!

k, so
We're on the new site now. The databases seem to have transferred over fairly smoothly - we may have lost a couple posts due to people posting on the wrong board while I was testing earlier when there dns changed before other peoples. Bnt seems to have moved no problem as well, but we are probably still going to reset, or throw up another copy, whatever~
Yes the site is slower at this point. I have an email in to support for details, but a quick call revealed they lost one of there links and are basically supporting us on dual T1's - they will have there replacement DS3 near the end of this week. Shitty time for it to happen, but the machine itself is fine.
The box itself has a nightly backup on a seperate disk drive for our disaster recovery needs if there is any worry about that.
Anyhow, expect major additions to the site itself soon.
Finally, I would really like to extend another warm thank you to all the people who donated towards this so far

Reply email from our host
Our primary bandwidth provider is filing for bankruptcy and has dropped
our connectivity. We are relying on our backup lines right now. We
have paid a lot of money to expedite a DS3 order through Level3 next
week.
Thanks,
Rick

Laggy T1s
Even with the laggy connection, the site speed rocks.[/img]
