Article I found on another message board.

It essentially compares what's happening now and the parallels in another event in history.

I thought it was an excellent article. Informative for me as I didn't know how this event has originally unfolded.

*edit* I suspect that this will stir up a LOT of shit however that wasn't my intent. I just thought it was a good article and worthy of a debate.

I guess the first shit I would stir up is the title
When Democracy Failed: The Warnings of History

At what point did we have a democracy? Or is that what the article gets into? (I did not read it yet)

It goes into a previous example of when democracy failed.

People were so intent on equating Saddam with Hitler they failed to notice the almost spooky similarities between Bush and Hitler.

I don't really have the time to verify all the alleged 'facts' in that article but I'm truly surprised at the number of parallels between those two.

Nazi-analogy is a double edged sword.
Good article but it stretched the point a little thin in places.

That's what I suspected, but it was an entertaining read, nevertheless.

Actually that is a fun article, if you throw in some of our homeland security act, well my son should be getting his 'freedom knife' pretty soon

Miir, please enlighten us on the Bush / Hitler comparison. I see people speak of this but have yet to see ANY credible comparisons. I would personally love to see some facts or at least true similarities.

I think the comparisons are more than stretched...it looks like this person was reaching so far to make connections that he was able to pull his spleen out of his ass. While reading it, all I could think of to compare it to were some of my comp101 classes in college that gave examples of "papers written on pure bullshit" as my prof called it.
