I am an 18 year old male. Average guy, fairly good looking, nice (For the most part), still a virgin, 180 pounds 5'11''- Basically your average face in the crowd. I'm also at college in a dorm atm, studying for a degree in Computer Science.

Ok, Here's my dilemma.

I don't really want to have sex. I mean, don't get me wrong - oftentimes, just like with most guys, the first thing I think about when meeting women is what it would be like to fuck them...but I really have no desire to do it - I'm not gay, I'm not taking a vow of abstinence or anything, I don't have low self worth - Im the fucking win - or anything like that...So here's the question:

Is there something wrong with me here?

I'm sorry but these facts are vital to divining whether you are disinterested in sex, generally, or just in women. Much depends on the result.

If the former, I wouldn't worry too much. At your age, these things are largely governed by hormones, and one day soon you'll wake up with a fever that won't abate for the next 30 years, except in those few moments right after you actually get some.

If, however, you are a chronic masturbator yet don't like the chickies (or the guys), well, at your age I'd start to get concerned. The hormones are all there, but your natural lusts may be affected by your socialization. That would probably merit talking to someone (certified) about it.

I think the honest answer is that there may be something medically wrong with you. The real question is, do you not have a desire to have sex or are you just waiting until you meet the right person?

If you seriously do not have any sexual desire as an 18 year old male, you may have something hormonally wrong. Schedule a routine pyhsical (which you should do anyway) and mention it to your doctor.

Basically, I tried to wait for the right person to come along and make it special for me. I made a bigger deal out of it then it really was. I lost my virginity shortly before my 18th birthday... I was not blessed with having one of the best experiences in the world, for reasons I will not go into here. Up until that point, I was a sex craving maniac.. and where I am still a sex craving maniac (living with your fiancee who is still a virgin and wishes to remain that way till marriage can and will do that to a person) it's about half as much wanting sex as it is wanting absolution for a bad experience.

So.. don't rush into it. If you're not actively wanting to tap that ass right now, that doesn't mean all that much.. the above questions do apply, but it's OK not to be looking for sex contantly at 18.

Have you had/do you have a girlfriend now?
Have you/do you/did you 'fool around'?
If 'Yes', and 'Yes' - Did you still have no 'urge' or any lack of interest.
It could very well be your girlfriend killing your thought's of 'nookie', or you may need to get a girlfriend to better your chances of wanting to 'hit it'
In any case, I don't think anything is wrong with you. Keeping in mind you're a student and a rabid EQ player, I can see where thinking of 'tang' just isn't fitting in your lifestyle.

Ragardless, if it isn't hurting anything - keep doing what you are now. You seem to have a good future ahead of you with or without a sex drive. If it really is upsetting you, talk to your physician or something.

It could be a medical problem, but at your age, I really wouldn't think you have low testosterone , some sexual dysfunction/disorder, horomone imbalance etc.

For the record, most women don't buy the virgin-line, it's pretty old now.
My friend used the gay line (he was hot) - worked every time, he'd taunt women until they would throw themselves at him trying to 'turn him straight', which he was already..lol

Anyways, if you're happy, don't stress yourself over it.

Some people just don't like/crave sex. You may be diverting from the norm, but as long as it dosen't really bother you, then no harm done. The problems you face may very well be future relationships. It's hard to find a partner that would understand your asexual nature. At the end of the day, these types of situations usually work themselves out.

However, if it does bother you beyond merely wondering, then I suggest seeking a professional opinion.

The urge to gratify sexual impulses is natural and part of our basic instincts. Not wanting to have sex with a woman isn't necessarily a concern but if you don't feel sexual urges at all (sheep, masterbation, etc) then I'd say there might be a problem.

What's the term im looking for...maintenance sex or something like that. Some may jerk off simply to keep things functioning properly. Personally, I think that would suck but if you don't desire women, you might also save yourself untold hours of wasted time thinking about and working to fulfill your sexual needs with a female that requires mysterious mating rituals before getting the 30 seconds of relief that you actually want.

Bottom line is if you don't feel the urge to "hit it", you've got to take care of your plumbing another way as Masteen mentioned earlier.
