seeing the first exe axe in beta being sold for 5kpp (yea right, not that much money in the entire game!

I remember my first time logging on EQ. I ran right into the pond in Felwithe and died.
I remember someone named "Gangrel" giving me a full suit of cloth armor.
I remember getting to level 5 and learning that I could buy and scribe some spells.
I remember when I scribed flare, I tracked down an orc pawn and informed him of a painful death as I casted flare..which did nothing.
I remember selling a manastone to merchants for level 8 spell money.
I remember creating my guild.
I remember kunark shuttles were broken every other day for ages.
I remember making lots of good friends.
I don't remember when the discovery of new things, and the mystery of being n00b disappeared. But I wish it hadn't.

I remember being a Paladin and not being able to kill jack crap when the game first came out and griefing Brad at the first FanFair (wasn't called that then) that he nerfed Paladins and I bet his favorite D&D character was killed by one and he was getting back at all the DO-GOODERS. Then it took me until after Veilous to realize that Paladins suck and I couldn't get decent groups so I leveled up a warrior only... to have Brad FREAKIN' LEAVE VI and they FINALLY make Paladin's a decent class... <sigh>

I remember being in LGuk with Sirton, Doright, Ish and Grimdari killing in the Executioners Room. CT had just formed from The Oracle, OO and others... Sirton and Doright were in almost full Lavender (Mithril) and were like 4 levels higher than I... they were so UBER. Of course it wasn't long until we all realized that mithril no only looked GHEY but also sucked!

Xyun I remember Gak's death loop... sad. He lost a couple of levels they couldn't give him back I think...

I remember doing a freakin' player made quest to join Crimson Guard (their first recruit after formation). I had to run from FP to Halas and pick some crap up. I didn't have SoW, there were few maps at the time and I eventually got killed by a briggand! The next day I remember sitting in the smokin' area at work with a fellow player from Tunare who started in Qeynos who told me, man go to watch out for those briggands they have killed my wizard so many time... I was actually petrified to run back that night, not to mention falling into the pit in Blackburrow.

I remember when Kunark first came out and everyone trying to level like mad. Sitting in DL killing those spiders and roosters making cock jokes with Voronwe, Claeborn, Azuth, Blinkle, Kaly and Thalowin.

I remember getting to tag along on the Naggy run where the GM, what was her name? threatned FoH... at least I think. There was so much text flying by I couldn't read it all, DOH log... LOL!

I remember 120+ people in LGuk EVERYNIGHT and 150+ when the Japaneese got to stay up late on the weekends.

I remember Etain taking me to Lake Rathe, she had SoW, so that I could get some Small Bronze Armor which I could trade for med

I remember starting my mage Allya and dropping a lore item on the ground from Marb so she could get it only to find it disappeared... then I spent 3 months soloing Allya and making tons O' plat camping Gnolls in HH. And I remember an FoH Shaman, can't remember the name, always giving Allya free stuff when she was in Freeport... before he quit almost everyone hated him but always seemed nice to me.

I remember helping to rebuild OG at least 4 times onl....nm on that one

I remember the first time we killed Trak... very cool.

I remember pull the entire live side of LGuk to King and living... barely

Man, did every last one of you spend time in Crushbone??? For some reason i always hated Crushbone and i spent OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of time in Blackburrow. Now that place was the shit. I remember thinking of the deep shit i was getting myself into by traveling down in the snake pits. And for some reason, that one thing that probably sticks out in my mind the most about EQ is after Kunark first came out the message that was broadcast throughout Veeshan about FoH's killing of Trakanon. Something to do with a bard shouting about their victory or some shit. To this day i don't know why i always think about that but it sticks out.

Yeah, I remember that when you took 4 hours to clear the last few FGs and finally attack Nag and we were sitting in Tranix room waiting for you guys to die..... well FGs started repopping, we cleared em and laughed watching the wizards bind rush suicide to Nag...finally when there were about 100-150 corpses at his feet, we engaged and killed him off.... stupid guide sitting there threatened to disband us but nothing ever came of it.

I remember my first real camp, Dynil Starshine for the testament of vanear peice in Highhold. Of course there was a line everytime you came to the camp unless you were physically sitting there, so I joined one guy for 6 hours until he got his peice, then sat for 7 1/2 hours until I literally passed out on my keyboard only to suddenly awaken, and see someone had gated in just 15 minutes before to gank Dynil... so I waited another 8 hours and got it... and by God, it was worth it.

I remember watchin Barron (Wandering's old main), a lvl 50 half elf warrior tear it up at the Butcherblock zone and thinking... damn that dude is a fucking PIMP.

I remember the GM broadcast everytime a person hit level 50, and I remember congratulating just about all of them... whether I knew them or not.

I remember Nagafen raids that lasted close to five hours, back when he was always up.

I remember killing people in duels, and getting congratulated by all my friends and people I didn't even really know when the server broadcast went out.

I remember the Army of Aradane vs Krimson Horde battle, and how I landed a creeping crud on Krimson. I also recall getting dotted to death several times by some FoH druid using a guise so he could be on the evil team, the bastard.

I remember wiping on a fear break many times, and staying up all night trying to CR myself with about 40 other crabby naked people who all wanted to go to bed.

I remember when I got my Vemiculated BP and thinking, "wow, there are only like 5-10 on these on the entire server"... so naturally I spent the next 48 hours sitting on cool-guy hill in nfp right by the bank door.

I remember when I would anxiously await the server to come up from a patch, so I could log in to Dagnor's Cauldron where I had camped out the previous night and try to get Bilge Farfathom before anyone else... and I remember when I finally did.

I remember getting GEB's when my guild was finally powerful enough to camp the efreeti.

I remember the day Kunark came out myself and a band of intrepid explorers killed some goblin in Frontier Mountains and I got a Mithril Staff, which was better than an Exe Axe... which at the time was about the best weapon available. I sold it for around 10k.

I remember getting my Tranquil Staff for 80k back when there were only a handful of them on the server, and knowing how good of a deal I got.

I remember being the main puller for ToV when we were the second guild to hunt in the zone, and we could hear how FoH and CD were doing in /ooc. Furor would list stats off never before killed dragons to see who wanted it, and I remember getting an erection when I heard armor with 40+ ac was flagged WAR CLR PAL RNG SHD DRU >>MNK<< BRD ROG SHM.

I remember the first time PD ventured north in tov, about 20 of us cleared to PoM (after FoH cleared dragons of course, but back then flurry drakes were still pretty mean... and the zone was at the time uncharted). I was pulling and we were in pretty deep, bright red cons roaming everywhere and I had no idea where the fuck we were even headed... and then........ POPPLE DOP

I remember being awarded the first fist of lightning on veeshan when I didn't even know it had dropped... I just about shit a solid gold brick.

I remember finally getting to pull ST for my guild, and equipping everyone with primal on our small uber elite tactical ANON deathsquad raids.

I remember beginning a post about one recollection and having it turn into a novel.

Yoo remember~ Funny story about Morijac. Fear plane was just cleared and their guild shows up(think they moved to Saryn) and I told them when respawns would pop. I log for a few and come back on to help them clear it, and Mor and I were the only rangers. He gets first ranger loot which was boots...then we roll on second drop for arms, he wins. I felt cheated, but no biggie, it was his guild up there. Well low and behold are last pull a TT dropped the BP. He couldnt believe, hence when I picked up my BP. Seymore got his BP by pure luck. We has been in fear for quit some time, and seymore zones in as we are pulling the last TT to camp. He shows up to kill it, and it drops a BP. Two other rangers were there, and all three rolled...seymore won.

Playing 320x200 in beta 2 because that's all my video card could handle. It was still pretty cool.

Starting a ranger and then realizing EQ rangers weren't the versatile characters they were in every other RPG. I was pissed and started a druid.

When whirl till you hurl really worked.

Going to SolA and learning how to play my enchanter, hadn't really had to previously.

My first trip to LGuk with Rafoot and some others. Made my first 1000pp there from FS drops, I was rich. It was a scary place

Winning an FBSS and hearing people cuss for days about "that asshole enchanter who one a FBSS". I still have it

*Edit - Someone still has a level 11 monk camped in Fear from before they made it 46+, saw him last time I was there.

the one i got was the only one i ever saw drop. very glad i didnt have to roll for it. i would have quit EQ if i had lost it to some guy who had never done shit in PoF or whatever

(not referring to Seymore, seymore showed me the zone for the first time). even in many subsequent clearings for the new cazic i've still never seen a 2nd on drop. i'm guessnig easily 300-400 hours in PoF

And Drolgin i totally hear you on the FBSS. I put in 52 hours over a weekend, called in sick the Monday, cause i was not gonna give up on this FBSS. Finally a couple friends got in the group to help roll for me (Azuth and Archeiron) and Azuth won it, and man i finally got some sleep. I think i took Tuesday off too just cause i felt like shit.

I'd been in Frenz camp for four fucking weeks trying to get an FBSS for my monk twink. Asshole goes there and gets one his first night. Much h8 for j00, spankmonkey.

I used to get all my alts bound in Felwithe, run the mail, deposit the silver in the bank, then leap to my death. Respawn, rinse, repeat until level 5. At one point, my gimp roag had like 50+ corpses on the forest floor beneath the bank

I remember making the perilous journey from Qeynos to Freeport in Beta. The first time I attempted the trip, I made it halfway through before getting *owned* by a griffin in East Karana. So close, yet so far. I picked up my shit, ran out again, and finally made it. It was the scariest time I've ever had playing EQ.

I remember Alloria and Lleluvyn, who were just about the coolest frickin' people on Earth back in the day. Combined with the efforts of Zamtil, those silly fuckers got me into FoH. I'm sure they still live to regret it.

I remember the first time I ever zone crashed on the boat in OOT, and logged back in to find myself underwater. It was scary as hell. I was swimming frantically in any direction, searching for land. When sending /tells to my friends for advice, most responded with: "Re-roll. That's what I had to do when it happened to me."

I remember the Plane of Fear back when the "Fear" actually meant something. We'd zone in a few groups to take control of the camp site, and this was always a perilous task. Those freaking shiverback gorillas would always mess things up. Corpse loss was a very real threat back in the early Fear days.

I remember zoning into an early Fear once and seeing well over 200 JPN bodies lining the ground. Several of the corpses belonged to none other than Gurugurumaki himself.

I remember when Nag and Vox were new, and victory was most definitely *not* assured against them. I remember owning shit with the new 2H I got off the fire giants on the way to Nagafen. Most of all, I remember how badass I felt when I finally got my CoF.

I remember an infamous duel against Kartak in Nektulos, where I pwned him. He was taken aback, then proceeded to bitch at me for 'cheating.'

In time we made up, and we ended up having zany misadventures where all hilarity ensued.

I remember being drunk as a sailor one night in Fear, and hitting on Sean for what would be the first of many attempts. I vaguely remember referring to him as my 'mother.'

I remember my necro getting the first Blighted Robe on the server, and probably one of the first in the game. The GMs teleported me into a fully popped Fear, asked me if it was true that necros were overpowered, and then asked me to test some things for them. I soloed 4 mobs in a row, 2 at a time, while the GMs took down some notes. I was awarded a Blighted robe for my troubles, but later learned that my actions in Fear would lead to the nerfing of about 12 spells.

I remember the birth of my reputation as a slut, when Camdar logged onto Millie and asked Lleluvyn to do naughty things to her. The cyber requests never ceased after word got out.

I remember the war between Good and Evil in Kithicor, the night that the Plane of Hate opened up. I was on the Evil side, and we kicked some ass.

Y'all know what time it is!

I remember an early Hate raid, where Kartak accidentally aggroed Innoruuk. The screen looked something like this:

Innoruuk shouts, 'KARTAK!'
Kartak has been slain by Innoruuk!
Koraf says, 'LOL.'
Innoruuk shouts, 'KORAF!"
Koraf has been slain by Innoruuk!

Man, that was some funny shit.

I remember some crazy trains in Blackburrow, Cazic Thule, and Crushbone in Beta and early release. Those were the days.

I remember the first time I ever killed Dorn B'Dynn, and how cool I thought I was. Ditto: first SG kill, first Griffin kill, and first Efreeti kill (he was a raid mob back in the day).

I remember frantic races against The Mithril Circle and other Japanese guilds for Vox and Nag after every server-up.

I remember my first few hours in Karnor's Castle when Kunark was released, and wowing the guild with my super l33t Cobalt Boots. Furor tells you, "25 AC? Get the fuck out! Where can I get some?"

I remember the first few days of Veeshan's Peak. Loot never looked so freaking incredible. Dragons never looked so uber. Kunark rocked.

I remember when Furor, Fuuh, myself and a few others got our uber-secret Griffin Swords off mobs in Skyshrine the first day of Velious's release. The swords were better than epic 2-handers, looked freaking SWEET, and dropped off soloable blobs. When the swords got nerfed a few days later, ours turned into "The Sword of Shame," or something like that. I still have mine banked.

I remember going into Mistmooore later on for my Soulfire flaming sword hilt and meeting Gaklekk there with his O.G. crew getting the hilt for Shaira. I was a alone and kept dying before they came but they let me join them and gakk gave me advice on how to get the hilt.

I then tried again and met Trias lololol I think i got him killed like 10x as we tried to get to the SK with the hilt. It was cool he tried to help me. I was amazed seeing him with an invis helm..never saw one before.

Eschaton, hehe, I was hunting with that crazy bastard in Kaesora for the book. He fucking pulled everything, and he was with three other fucking tanks. Then I learned the hard way what rule number one was. It being our first time in that zone (Elspeth, Eschaton, Bralkan, Nullo and myself) we had more misadventures and evacs then we could count. Probably one of the best times I've had in EQ.

I remember helping pull vindi for the first time, i had an abosolute shit computer so i needed my clip place all the way down, i heard inc then from out of the blue smog i see this huge ass giant in gold gear running towards me. my heart has never beated that fast in my whole eq career.

I remember the run from FV to LOIO. Then starting this iksar monk so i would never have to do it again. Then i remember some other iksar monk (tukk? i forgot, he had the same first and last name) fded in front of cabilis bank. I asked him if he was having fun, and he handed me a Bo Staff at lvl 4. I thought i was a god.

I remember fighting in kael, and saiphos started shouting about his melee tournament in kael, and the whole zone laughing about it mocking it. Then the next night when he did a priest(was it?) tournament, everyone laughing about it again, and then saip popped into kael and asking whos making fun of my tournament?

I remember getting ported to WC from qeynos. I turned around and saw a DE in plate and running my ass off, then turning around to seeing an HG right in my face. Luckly about 5 or 6 people were fighting him, i didnt take the time to watch and ran my ass off. zoning into ec, and allmost runing into a griffon. Then finally making it alive to freeport, then getting mad when the monks there wouldnt tell me quests.

I remember finally getting velious. Installing it to the wrong directory. Then porting to IC on my druid just to land in water with NOTHING around me.

So many memories, i love this game, i wish i started earlier so i could of had some fun with you guys.
