Been to Albania, it is an armpit that makes Detroit look like Switzerland. I video taped a cop with his machine gun jump out in front of a car, making the guy slam on his brakes, roughed the guy up at gunpoint, pulled him out of the car, then start kicking him, then he looks up at me filming him, stops kicking, waves at me and smiles, leaving the owner to jump back into his car and speed off.

Our commanding Officer warned us that this country hardly gets any black people visit and were not friendly with them, and to be careful. Me and a few friends left the ship, got cussed out in Albanian and signed languaged to (they pointed at bricks, then pointed to their heads, then pointed to us) even random people just walking up to us and screaming at the top of ther lungs. We made a U-turn back to the ship. Told some white guys on the ship what had happened and they said we were full of crap lol.

10 minutes later, the corner we had just walked by, 3 black marines were gunned down in a drive by. We immediately left port. That country sux, they act like they have soooo much to protect from us raping/pillaging/uneducated black people. They can have their freakin pile of a country.

that's not really fair. albania is a fucking mess right now as they recover from communism and the cities are being run by criminals. the lack of education and cultural advancement isn't the people's fault. people are products of their environment. albania is a shit hole, but a adopting a 'fuck em all' attitude is just going to ensure it remains a shit hole forever.

lots of europeans and asians react oddly to black people. we have a japanese family that moved next door to us about 10 months ago. they are a very modern and prgressive family by japanese standards. it took the wife and one of the kids about half a year before they stopped fleeing from my fiance every time he went outside.

Well, Coach made it fit - perhaps that is part of the humor of it and perhaps why it has stuck in my head for, what, 20 years (when did "Cheers" first broadcast, anyway? ... the episode was from one of the first couple of seasons).

Helpful hint: 'atic' in A-dri-atic is jammed into a single syllable.
