Him being in prison is almost as bad as if he raped someone or killed a child. He should be put in solitary confinement for obvious reason, foker.

But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

He supports a group that attacked my homeland. That is what he did to me, he supported an attack against me and my countrymen and women.kyoukan wrote:why what did he do to you?
Not that I condone acts of violence and such in prisons...but if it bothers you that this shit happens, then don't break the law. And, when you are a traitor to your country, don't put up your hands and say "I'm an American" when they bust in the door....unless of course you want to goto jail for being a traitor...
the taliban didn't attack the US.Kluden wrote:He supports a group that attacked my homeland. That is what he did to me, he supported an attack against me and my countrymen and women.kyoukan wrote:why what did he do to you?
in fact bush sr. had the taliban over to the ranch for martinis and cocktail weinies back in early 2001 to discuss running a huge fucking oil pipeline through afghanistan.. they said no.
your government and media has manipuated you to the point where you can no longer distinguish between different islamic groups. excellent.

They didn't directly attack the US, but they did provide a safe harbor for Al-Qaeda while they were in power in Afghanistan so they are indirectly a cause of it.
In addition they were extremely intolerant of other religions (destroying/defacing the giant ancient, statues of Buddha) and ruled with a very strict version (?) of Islam which is borderline on violating the civil rights of women throughout the country.
Is that more accurate?
Taliban != Al-Qaeda, though.

you have to put into perspective that osama bin laden is a hero the afghani people.. he was the main liberator of afghanistan from the soviet union.
be that as it may I doubt lindh's itinerary involved treason when he left the country to study islamic culture. from what I've read about him he didn't seem to be a very radical person. he sure made a good scapecoat for darth ashcroft though.

I understand that the taliban and al qaeda are not the same group...but...
My point is that after the attacks occured, and the al qaeda were singled out as the group responsible...the taliban supported the al qaeda with food, shelter, and the means to hide, escape, whatever.
So, they are directly linked to the islamic group (read: are allies) that commited an act of war against me, my country, etc.
So, in other words, the media didn't tell me they were the same, I have decided through the facts that are presented to me that their goal was one in the same after 9/11: make capture and destruction of the al qaeda group as hard as possible for the U.S.
I'm sorry you feel that I am just a spoonfed media drone...some of us here do form our own opinions about things, just like you do...and you get your information from the same types of places I do...so believe me, if you feel I am a media drone, then you are judging me into the same category you fall in...

That's pretty much a blanket statement for all middle eastern countries except Iraq.In addition they were extremely intolerant of other religions (destroying/defacing the giant ancient, statues of Buddha) and ruled with a very strict version (?) of Islam which is borderline on violating the civil rights of women throughout the country.
